In the event of spillage, clean up using clean receptacles and dispose of carefully. Do not add water to spilled materials. Do not use floor sweeping compounds to clean up spills. Sweep and scoop spilled material into clean, dedicated equipment. To accurately determine the correct flow for the scrubber, the tray should be full of water but not so much that it is overflowing over the sides. Overflowing over the sides will increase the sound coming from the scrubber. Yes, if you miscalculate the amount of algaecide, you can overdo it. This can cause foaming and, in some cases, even irritation to the eyes and skin. You need to know the gallon capacity of your pool to determine the correct dosage. Also, one of the side effects is that the algaecide stops working as it should, it becomes ineffective. For low TA levels below 80ppm you will need to use Total Alkalinity Increaser. The amount of TA + you need to add to your hot tub depends on the volume of water and how low your readings are. As a guide - a hot tub of 1,000 litres requires 18g to raise Total Alkalinity levels by 10ppm (parts per million).

If you are going away we would suggest emptying the pool and cleaning it so the water is not left to go stagnant. Do no re-fill until you return from your trip. Never use unlabelled chemicals and please read the instructions before use. Avoid getting chemicals in eyes, on skin or on clothing. Avoid breathing vapours when opening a container. Avoid creation of dust. Never add water to the product. Always add product to large quantities of water. Use separate clean dry utensils for each chemical and clean after use. Do not add the product to any dispensing device containing residuals of other products. Chlorine is a sanitiser that controls and prevents bacteria growth and is essential for the hot tub water to be clean and safe to use. The recommended Free Chlorine* level in a hot tub is 3-5ppm (parts per million).Most algaecides are copper-based, which are chemical compounds with metal as the central atom. Clearwater Foam Remover is designed to control and prevent foaming in your hot tub, which is typically caused by the reaction of water with shampoos, deodorants and natural body oils present on the user. Chlorine demand of water too high at start up, after holidays or due to excess contamination or neglect pH levels indicate how acidic or basic the pool water is. Low levels are acidic, while high levels are basic. The ideal level range for the pool is from 7.4 to 7.6.

The ideal alkalinity range is 100 to 150 parts per million (ppm). And you can use baking soda to increase the alkalinity in your pool.

Make sure that any outdoor storage of chemicals is as far away from your hot tub as possible and in a dry, covered area. Humidity or even small amounts of water can cause chemical reactions that could lead to dangerous fumes. Mount the scrubber over the sump or above it elsewhere with either an in-sump stand, wall mount stand or whatever you want to use to hold the unit. It will need to be above the full line of your sump as the lamps cannot be submerged. They are splash proof and not 100% waterproof. Algaecide can kill algae, but it is best used as a preventative measure. Its main advantage is that it does not change the pH of the water, but at the same time it prevents algae from growing and developing in your pool. What’s more, the algaecide works in tandem with a chlorine sanitizer to keep pH levels balanced. Clearwater pH Plus , also known as ‘pH increaser’ is the best way to increase pH levels that have dropped below the recommended level. To avoid skin discomforts and enable the chlorine in your spa to work effectively, it’s vital that acidity is monitored and controlled. The recommended pH balance of spa water is between 7.2 and 7.6. Clear Water Scrubbers are an external design that needs to be mounted higher than the sump of your tank for the drain to flow into or higher than the full water level of your sump with an in-sump stand. The feed for the scrubber can be done with a stand alone feed pump (we recommend a Sicce SDC 3.0) or manifold plumbed into the included ½” or 3/8” barb fitting. Water will then flow into the tray and down the algae screen that is blasted with a proprietary design of red/blue LED lights. Water will then drain into your sump thru the 1” bottom drain installed in the scrubber.

These slow-release tablets contain chlorine, algaecide and water clarifier. The chemical dispenser slowly releases the mini-tablets into the water, making this a completely hassle-free way of treating your water even for the user with a busy schedule. Bestway® Clearwater™ 1 Litre Algaecide is a highly effective way to eliminate algae and prevent a pool from looking murky. Although algae doesn’t do direct harm to swimmers it looks deeply unpleasant and provides an ideal breeding ground for germs and bacteria. Getting rid of swimming pool algae, a microscopic plant that comes in many guises and adores the nutrients found in pool water, couldn’t be simpler. If algae forms on or below the water’s surface you simply pour the recommended dose of algae remover into the swimming pool. Ideally the algae killer should be applied where water inlets are situated so that it disperses evenly and effectively throughout the water. The amount of algae treatment used depends on the size of an above ground swimming pool and the severity of the situation.
