I really enjoyed the funny language and the characters in this book. I'd recommend this book to all my friends and any reader age 6+. This is the story of a little girl called Sophie, who helps a good giant called the BFG, save humanity from some horrid, vile giants, who eat people. I liked this book because although there are many funny parts, there were also parts that made me think, like the part where the BFG points out that humans eat pigs, and the pigs don't like that either! The BFG is a book about a friendly Giant who snatches a young girl called Sophie from her bed in the middle of the witching hour! My favourite part of the book was when the BFG told Sophie [and us!] about what was inside the small round jars and the part when they catch the mean, gross giant and only gave them a type of fruit called snozzcumbers but, the bit where 3 drunk men fall into the giants pit is just gruesome! I hope you enjoy it! Dahl, Roald. Gjiganti i madh i mirë (in Albanian). Translated by Naum Prifti. Çabej: Tiranë. OCLC 472785476.

It was published in the Mail on Sunday and originally a straight adaptation, with scripts accepted by Roald Dahl himself. After a while the comic started following its own storylines and continued long after Dahl's death in 1990. [33] Stage play [ edit ] The book is about a little girl called Sophie that sees a giant out of her bedroom window. The giant takes Sophie away to giant land and Sophie learns a lot about giants. The name of the giant is BFG.Dahl was a staunch believer in regular treats. Along with his own hipbone (a keepsake from an operation), a dull silver, cannonball-shaped weight sat proudly on his writing desk, made from hundreds of the scrunched together foil wrappers from his daily Kit Kat habit. The Fleshlumpeater: The leader of the nine man-eating giants and the largest and most horrible of the bunch. He shows no mercy for eating so many humans over the years, and is happy with what he has done and would continue it if he could. Voiced by Don Henderson in the 1989 film and motion-captured by Jemaine Clement in the 2016 film. The actor Peter Serafinowicz provides an English language audiobook recording. Time magazine included the novel in its list of the 100 Best Young-Adult Books of All Time. [2] Summary [ edit ]

As in his life, just deserts are rife in Roald Dahl’s stories and food often features in retributions. In The Witches, the Grand High Witch plots to eradicate all of England's children by lacing sweets with ‘Formula 86 Delay Action Mouse Maker’ that will turn the children into mice. The boy and his Norwegian grandmother (based on Dahl's own mother) hatch a plan to hoist the witches by their own petard, by secreting the formula into their pea soup and eradicating all of England’s witches in a single slurp. The concept for the cookbook came to the Dahls shortly before Roald’s death in 1990, as they were writing a memoir of sorts about the foods they loved. Friends kept suggesting that they should consider writing a recipe book for children, based on the many fanciful edibles in Dahl’s books. But whenever the idea resurfaced, Roald would bury his face in his hands and gasp to his wife, “Oh no, Liccy, the work! The thought daunts me!” He takes her to Giants' country and he tells her his biggest secret. They go on a mission together. Singh, Anita (7 August 2010) "Roald Dahl's secret notebook reveals heartbreak over daughter's death". The Telegraph. Retrieved 4 January 2011. This story is about a little girl called Sophie who finds out that giants really do exist! My favourite part of the book is when the BFG kidnaps Sophie because it's exciting and dramatic. The BFG uses made up words because he never ever went to school. He has made up long words which are funny, like whizzpopper. Sophie was petrified when she first saw the BFG, but their friendship grew and Sophie and the BFG became friends forever. The company added that it had worked alongside Inclusive Minds, a collective for people working towards inclusion and accessibility in children’s literature. I didn't like the story because it is boring and I didn't like the characters except the BFG and the boss of the giants. Partial to Bitcoin? Eventually, the gremlins are re-trained by the Royal Air Force to repair rather than sabotage aircraft, and restore Gus to active flight status after a particularly severe crash. [Note 3] The book also contains picturesque details about the ordinary lives of gremlins: baby gremlins, for instance, are known as widgets, and females as fifinellas, a name taken from the great "flying" filly racehorse Fifinella, that won both the Epsom Derby and Epsom Oaks in 1916, the year Dahl was born.
