The sudden intro of Sonia who was to become the "quirky" friend was introduced in one page as the secretly vaping, British slang liking (cringe) bestie.

It was the stereotypical homecoming Queen and popular hot jock as grown adults still being stick in high school, both figuratively and literally. But I loved everything about him especially how he cared for Nova everytime and her family and how he loves star wars.But things heat up for real under these Friday-night lights when he realizes she's the one who slipped away. There are some ups and downs between the main couple, but honestly they make sense to the characters and anything else would have been too easy.

He’s looking to move up his career ladder, but everyone in town is trying to wife him up so that he'll stay at the school. Overall, this was enjoyable at times but disappointing at others…so I’m going with a middle of the road 3 star rating.And this new neighbor kinda asks her to be his fake girlfriend - because the whole town is trying to find him a wife to make him stay! Nova is not happy to learn that her new neighbor is none other than Ronan Smith and he doesn’t remember her. A former high school English teacher and librarian, she adores all things Pride and Prejudice, and of course, Mr. And when Ronan started to show us little bits of himself, I just knew he was so much more than meets the eye. Obviously I don’t want to spoil anything, but if you like love after loss, sweet small towns with nosy neighbors, sweet as strawberry jam sibling relationships, not so fake faking dating, and a love story that’s not easy going, but definitely worth it, then you’ll LOVE Beauty and the Baller!

Ilsa is fantastic at writing a type of character that shows a whole array of emotions but still has a quirky and funny side that will steal your heart completely. Sebastian has a deep gravelly voice which is perfect for Ronan and Savannah has a soft pleasing voice. She enters Ronan’s life because he is her favorite QB and they have a mind-blowing but awful night that again changes Ronan’s journey. And the side romances were so cute that I couldn’t help but smile every time a new couple got together. It definitely caught my eye and made me want to pick it up asap 😂 I’m so glad that I listened to my gut cos I lovedit!They both deal with grief, but the author manage that heavy subject beautifully, with care, sensitivity and a little hilarity, so it didn't feel heavy at all.
