Next was changing the arm positions by about 1/8 in to properly fit the steering wheel and side of the jeep body. The are three opening cut in the floor and two reinforcement bars molded into the die-cast protruding above the floorboard too. Try and build the sights for the guns (and attach the magazines that I've also just noticed are missing). This was a special service unit organized in 1941 by young British officer David Stirling and showed activity in the desert of North Africa. The kit comes with a new machine turned brass barrel, turned and drilled barrel vent guard, charging handle, and a small PE sheet for the front and rear sights as well as trigger assembly.

Tamiya 1/35 Special Air Service Jeep - Wonderland Models

After a while your head overloads with techniques and means and ways, and to be honest the best thing is to have a play.

I saw a picture of the large Dragon 1/6 "Jeep" and I really liked all the Jerry can's and and little parts hanging off the Jeep including the helmet covers. One slight annoyance is that I have a couple of German-style jerry cans that I wanted to use, but they are slightly larger than the allied ones, and won't quite fit into the storage rack that I've built.

Here they are showing the three part lower hinge attached to the hood (it was easier than trying add them to the fender as then they would have to be functional). It allows me to add "accurate" details to a sometimes generic model, and accuracy is also authenticity in my books. I mixed Vallejo Sand with some GW white and gave the Jeep a light dry brush for further highlighting.

What I've been wondering is now that I have a thin layer of oil paint (applied with a white spirit thinner), if adding another layer of oil-based filter (with more white spirit) would start to remove the dot-filter layer. If not, should I start thinking of changing the color of the jeep to a green or thee tone camouflage to match the figures uniforms? They're a bit agricultural, but hopefully with a lick of paint, some weathering and some stowage, they'll blend in a bit.

During that short time I did manage to knock off the left front light protection bar and the radiator expansion tank , they are fixed now. Shelf: Lots (66 Kits of multiple scales) of Armour + couple of Flappy / Wing Things, found a KV2 95% built and primed four years ago. I mistakenly thought it had dried and t Khaki- Worn by many infantry regiments including the Scots Guards, Irish Guards, Grenadier Guards, Coldstream Guards, Welsh Guards, Honourable Artillery Company, 4/73 Special OP Battery (RA), Royal Gibraltar Regiment, Yorkshire Regiment, Duke of Lancasters Regiment, Royal Welsh, Royal Anglian Regiment and Princess of Wales Royal Regiment, also attached arms to these regiments often use the Khaki Beret. With that said I was still able to replace the solid and undefined plastic beveled barrel ends with very thin hollow aluminum rod.For anyone weathering desert kit be careful not to add the usual rusting step as metal does not rust as it does in your normal european climate. The details on the subjects are incredible and extremely accurate right down to the expressions on the soldiers' faces. The spare tyres and sand channel, suitably worn to the metal from the sandblasting it gets in the desert.
