I managed to "redesign" the Sevylor fitting on the high pressure hose and it fits snugly into the inflation socket on the awning so I can just let it do it's thing.

I used this on my own for the first time and within moments the beams were starting to stand and in under 8mins this tent was up and solid. As has been said remember to plug the pump in before running the awning round the rail else it’s a bit of a struggle and fight to get to the socket.I have just purchased a rechargeable battery (no cables, so no distance restriction) inflater as we have inflation tow behind toys for the jetski and I very impressed with it so will try it on the air awning and may use this. The information I was given by the dealer is that the Breeze was not made by Kampa but made in China and licenced to use the Kampa name, whereas the Gale is manufactured by Kampa. Ok that's a solution but why doesn't kampa have an integral battery in the pump knowing you have to have a direct 12v feed to power it? It does get it to a higher pressure than I can normally do manually and, having an auto cutout guage fitted, is better in that respect. With a range of power options and sizes, from portable manual pumps to heavy-duty electric pumps, these air pumps are the perfect addition to your camping, hiking, and outdoor gear collection.

I had a Breeze which was worse than useless, took a while to convince myself to invest in the Gale but glad I did! We have a Kampa 420 Air, which we have used a few times and it's been quite quick to inflate using a Ryobi Cordless Inflator to start it off and then finished off with the hand pump. However, on our last trip to the Isle of Wight in April I used a Sevylor electric pump and was amazed at how quickly it inflated the awning, around 3 minutes! I used this along with a Sevylor Pump, connected straight to the caravan battery, very heavy duty adaptor and away it went. Simply plug the Dometic Gale into a 12v cigar lighter or similar power source using the extra long cable, set the PSI required and let the pump do it's job.

The unit has a digital display along with adjustable pressure settings and will inflate and comes complete with adaptors for air beds as well as tents and awnings. Simply plug the Dometic gale into a 12v cigar lighter or similar power source using the extra long cable, set the PSI required and let the pump do it's job.I had to go to reception and borrow a monkey wrench so that I could hold the white nut and unscrew the tube. There is ample cable to run from a standard 12v vehicle socket and the pressure limit setting is easy to use. I am a relatively fit 64 year old and I inflate ours just once at the start of a trip and have never felt the need to electrify the process.
