The Kovea propane adapter is a great little adapter, but it weighs 105g – that's nearly a quarter of a pound! In fact, it has replaced my other stove to become my main cooking system both for family backpacking trips and backpacking trips without kids and I’m sharing my experience here in this JetBoil Zip review. Hi I have a Jetboil Flash which is great for single cooking but as soon as it comes to two ration packs you end up eating 10mins apart from each other. If you lay the canister on it's side, you're going to be feeding liquid fuel into the burner instead of gaseous fuel. Here, a cozy might have actual value, particularly if one were to start (as I recommend) with a warmed canister.

I still had my old Coleman Stove which had a regulator that looked essentially the same as the crap Jetboil part and thought that might be a quick, easy fix. If you can channel enough heat from the burner back to the cylinder of gas, then you can operate at as low a temperature as you like.

Another remote canister stove stand comes along with an integrated CP250 to female Lindal 7/16 NS adaptor. So in theory it should be okay to use a propane canister with a backpacking stove in cold conditions (below freezing). I've got a Jetboil but find that, for backpacking, I preferentially use an alcohol stove so I've been looking for an alternative use for the stove. Oh I agree there are probably better alternatives for cooking, but the majority of my camping trips will be solo photography outings where I just make something quick by my truck. All of a sudden it seemed things worked and a large white gout of gas erupted from the burner and created a stinky propane cloud all of 3 feet in diameter.At the very least, I have to add a pot (and probably a lid) and a fuel canister (and probably a canister stand). The threads on the refillable bottles seem to be slightly thicker and won't allow the G-works to screw on all the way. Either a couple of trips to the freezer for 15-20min, or wrap it in a ice-pack after the initial freezer session. The Markill Stove Base Adaptor appears to sit lower, and its gas canister connector does not feature an adjustable gas flow control valve. And even if I am completely wrong about galvanic corrosion being an issue, the environments we have spent time in with this stove have resulted in rust.
