Depending on surface time and temperature, extra coats can be applied if needed, however allow to fully dry between coats. If additional protection against blue stain, rot and insect attack is desired ( eg soft woods) , pre-treat the wood, if possible on all sides, with Osmo WR Impregnation. Pressure impregnated wood, Massaranduba, Bangkirai or Garapa need to weather off for at least 3 months.

Based on natural vegetable oils that penetrate deeply maintaining elasticity and preventing the wood from drying out. Non pressure-treated softwood (except from red cedar) must be primed with the WOCA Exterior Wood Primer. As a leading brand in wood finishes, Osmo offers a range of decking oils that can help you achieve the look you want. If a less intenstive colour is desired, the second coat should be carried out with clear Anti-Slip Decking Oil. Also, my wife failed to tell me she wanted a clear oil and liked the silver wood effect o she was not best pleased after I turned the decking brown haha.If possible, and if the wood is absorbent please apply the first coat to all sides before installation.

Osmo sells their Teak Oil 007 as a dual-purpose product as it is perfect for Teak and decking, especially dark exotic hardwood decking which tends to be made from very dense and naturally oily woods. The special water-based composition of oil components ensures that the product is water-dilutable and friendly to the environment.Avoid applying clear Anti-Slip Decking Oil 430 as a stand alone finish as this offers limited UV protection. The wood can breathe and the moisture content is controlled by the microporous coatings, which are based on natural vegetable oils.

Osmo Decking Oils will not crack, flake, or peel, unlike a conventional wood paint does after being exposed to harsh weather conditions. To begin, ensure that the oil is stirred thoroughly, and use an appropriate brush for application, whilst for larger areas use a floor brush. To preserve the look and performance of the oiled finish for longer, it is recommended that decked areas are swept with a stiff broom on a regular basis. Used Osmo Decking oil grey 019 to give our garden sleepers a more contemporary look from golden to grey.

While it’s true that excessive moisture can cause the oil to break down over time, most high-quality decking oils are designed to provide long-lasting protection even in wet conditions.Old non Osmo paints and varnishes must be removed first, old micro-porous treatments need only be cleaned or lightly sanded. We cover the whole of the East Midlands, including Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, as well as Warwickshire, Northampton and the West Midlands. Osmo Decking Oil 007 is a dual-purpose product and is sometimes supplied and labelled as 'Teak Oil 007', this is confirmed by the text on the back of the tin. Depending on wood species, new or freshly sanded wood requires up to 12 weeks (approximate) exposure to the exterior elements before application. Osmo provides the perfect combination of oiling and staining in one product with their decking oil range, offering 11 tinted stain colours with the high performance and UV resistance of natural Osmo oils.
