Digestive Health: Lepicol powder contains a blend of soluble and insoluble fibers, such as psyllium husk and inulin, which can support a healthy digestive system and help maintain regularity. Please note: Taking Lepicol without water can cause choking. Always aim to consume a 250ml glass of liquid with every heaped teaspoon. Please consult your doctor before taking Lepicol if you have recently had intestinal surgery or you have an intestinal obstruction. If at any time you experience discomfort after taking Lepicol, reduce dosage or stop taking and seek medical advice.

Each of our specific probiotic strains need various nutrition sources to aid in their growth in culture. Cow's milk and soya are used in the fermentation (manufacturing) process, although it goes through a filtration process a number of times, and the cryoprotectant coating applied to our strains before freeze drying to enhance stability. On testing the final Lepicol, small traces of casein have been detected so would not be suitable for those with a severe milk allergy (to milk proteins). Tests have also shown that many of our strains produce lactase, the enzyme deficient in lactose intolerant sufferers necessary to breakdown lactose (the milk sugar). Our products are therefore suitable for those with a lactose intolerance. On last testing soya was below the lower limit of detection. The Lepicol powder could be mixed with the liquid in cereals quite easily. Due to the absorptive nature of the psyllium husk it may be necessary to use more milk/water than usual. It is particularly important that the Lepicol powder is mixed into the cereal and liquid well if it is to be served to children. Porridge is a good option, simply add Lepicol to the porridge after it has been cooked and removed from the hob (the live bacteria could be damaged at high temperatures). Yoghurt & FruitWe recommend taking Lepicol at least 30 minutes before a meal. Take Lepicol Plus+ 10 minutes before a meal. Shake before use. The volume of water we recommended drinking with Lepicol could increase fullness so it is not recommended to take alongside a meal. This is a guide and for some people the timing may vary to fit into their daily routine. Lepicol can therefore, be taken any time of day away from food. If you are taking any medications or have any medical conditions please consult your doctor before taking any food supplement. Inulin is a fibre that is sourced from chicory root. Inulin is not broken down by the body - it is fermented by the live bacteria in the gut to support the growth of live bacteria. Available in Please note: Taking Lepicol without water can cause choking. Always aim to consume a 250ml glass of liquid with every heaped teaspoon. Please consult your doctor before taking Lepicol Psyllium powder if you have recently had intestinal surgery or you have an intestinal obstruction. If at any time you experience discomfort after taking Lepicol, reduce dosage or stop taking and seek medical advice. Due to the nature of the psyllium husks within Lepicol, it is able to absorb water and bulk stools during diarrhoea episodes, whilst creating a soft gel and stimulating peristalsis which aids in the smooth passage of the stool during constipation episodes. Lepicol psyllium husks are therefore able to help normalise bowel movements from both extremes.

Colon Health: The fiber-rich content in Lepicol powder can contribute to maintaining a healthy colon by supporting regular waste elimination and preventing toxins from lingering in the digestive tract.

Probiotics

Lepicol is sold in both powder and capsules as alternative forms of administration, dependent on the individual's preference. For every tsp of the powder we recommend 4 capsules. Most people therefore, find the powder easier to take on a daily basis but the capsules can be useful when travelling. Lepicol also contains Fructo-oligosaccharides which have been shown to complement high fibre foods for healthy bowels by supporting intestinal healthy bacteria (probiotics). Enhanced Nutrient Absorption: By promoting a healthy digestive system, Lepicol powder may enhance the absorption of nutrients from food, leading to better overall nutritional status. Lepicol powder is suitable for vegetarians and approved by the Vegetarian Society. The whole psyllium husk powder is suitable for vegans. Lepicol is a natural product and the improvement seen will vary between each individual. This can range from a few days to a month. If you have been using laxatives every day you may want to cut down slowly while you introduce the Lepicol so that your body can get used to more natural bowel movements.

Lepicol contains five probiotic strains. Your digestive tract is home to trillions of gut bacteria that aid in digestion, help prevent a pathogenic bacteria over-growth, and have an impact on your immune system. Keeping a balanced gut microflora helps to ensure that the environment in your digestive tract is stable and goes a long way to aid in your health and well-being. The best way to take the Lepicol range is to mix it with water or fruit juice and follow this up with the extra liquid that is required (250ml for every heaped teaspoon). However, it is accepted that not everyone will find Lepicol easy to take. The following suggestions may help in providing some suitable alternatives. Psyllium powder will add bulk to foods and increases the fibre content. Fruit smoothie / Milk Shake / Meal Replacement Lepicol is a natural fibre supplement product that can be taken with other medications. There are no known contraindications for the use of Lepicol. However, we do recommend they be taken 2 hours apart and if you are taking any medications or have any medical conditions please consult your doctor before taking any food supplement. For allergens please see ingredients list in bold .Contains soya and milk, used in the fermentation process. Content of milk is at a level that would not affect lactose intolerant sufferers. May contain traces of mustard and sesame. The main fibre source within Lepicol is psyllium husk ( Plantago ovata). Psyllium husks are a great fibre supplement as it is able to normalise stool size by being water retentive and, at the same time, forms a soft gel which eases the stool along the lower digestive tract ready for evacuation. Psyllium husks have the advantage of being much gentler than some common fibre supplements (such as wheat or bran), many of which could irritate a sensitive bowel. ProbioticsAdults: Take 1-2 heaped teaspoons (2-2.5g) mixed with water or juice once or twice daily and consume immediately. This should then be followed by a further glass of water. We recommend starting with a low dose and building up gradually to suit the individual. We recommend taking Lepicol at least 30 minutes before a meal. The volume of water we recommended drinking with Lepicol could increase fullness so it is not recommended to take alongside a meal. This is a guide and for some people the timing may vary to fit into their daily routine. Lepicol can therefore, be taken any time of day away from food. Adults: Take 1-2 heaped teaspoons (2.5 - 5g) mixed with water or juice once or twice daily and consume immediately. This should then be followed by a further glass of water. We recommend starting with a low dose and building up gradually to suit the individual.

The third ingredient is Probiotic bacteria. It is now clearly recognised that long term health of the bowels can depend on keeping the levels of good bacteria in the bowels at a higher level than bad bacteria. Weight Management: The fiber in Lepicol powder can help create a feeling of fullness and reduce overall caloric intake, potentially aiding in weight management efforts. Lepicol and our whole psyllium husk products are a gluten free. The fermentation mix used to culture the protease in Lepicol Plus contains wheat/wheat derivatives. Therefore, Lepicol Plus may not be suitable for coeliac sufferers. Minimum of 120 million CFU/g (1.2 x 10 8CFU/g), equivalent to600 million CFU/5g dose (6.0 x 10 8CFU/5g).Different types of high fibre foods in the diet can have a synergistic effect and can complement the effects of the psyllium husks in Lepicol. It is good to get into the habit of taking different sources of fibre - for instance, most fruits and vegetables are a good fibre source. When increasing fibre in your diet or through supplements, it’s advisable to do this gradually, as sudden large increases can aggravate initially digestive issues in some. Food Supplements are intended to supplement the diet and should not be substituted for a varied diet or healthy lifestyle.
