I LOVE to give people The Jesus Storybook Bible because from the very first chapter it paints a powerful picture of God's epic love for each one of us. Sally Lloyd-Jones has a unique way of inviting the reader, young or old, to dive in and discover for themselves the truth and hope of the greatest story ever told.' Amy Grant My whole life I had been waiting for somebody to tell me I was special… It changed everything for me.” - Darnell Ferguson Jago’s drawings of the scene moved me to tears. I can only imagine what it will be like to sit with the book open to this scene, a child at my side, and try to read it aloud. Naturally I chose Samson, because I thought he would be fun to play. But when I reread the story through the lens of how I would tell it to children, I didn’t know what to leave in and what to take out. Could I tell them about the time I tied the tails of foxes together, set them on fire, and sent them running through the Philistines’ vineyards? Or the time, after spending the night in a brothel, I tore the city gates from their hinges and carried them off? complete printable lessons with teaching notes based on material from Timothy Keller, memory verses, and four-color children’s handouts with take-home notes

There just wasn't much space and room for mental health struggles with anxiety in the culture I grew up in. I spent most of my early teenager years to early adulthood in a more sophisticated version of hiding anxiety.” – Curtis Chang The Lord was training me theologically and also teaching me to find ways to say things differently,” she said. “I feel such a debt to him and to [Tim’s wife] Kathy.” I thought, What would C. S. Lewis do if he had to write a children’s Bible?” she said. “The Holy Spirit used that. Before, I knew I would do a great job. But after, [the vision was] something that was given to me. My imagination caught on fire. At that point, I had to give it everything I could, no matter how long it took.”Lloyd-Jones grew up in Africa, where her father worked for Shell Oil. She was saved at the age of 4, after first turning down her father’s question of “Do you want to become a Christian?” with a polite “No, thank you.” Children aged from 4 upwards will understand and love the stories shared with them by a grown up reader, and children from 6 upwards will be able to read the straightforward words and sentences for themselves. Even the youngest will be drawn in by the bright and bold pictures of award winning children's artist and native of Cornwall, Jago.

The high quality binding, strong covers and premium glossy paper make this a gift to be given with love, received with joy and treasured with delight. Each story – never more than about 100 lines of clearly readable text, is just the right length for bedtime or story-time sharing. And written by award winning English writer of children's books, Sally Lloyd-Jones, The Jesus Storybook Bible is as engaging for grown-ups as it is for children.Wherever I am, God is going to be there. And I will be given what I need from Him to meet the challenges of a place. And all I need to do is stay in the day and do what God has given me to do on that particular day and have joy in that.” - Melanie Penn The theme of the terrible lie [of sin]—which has everything to do with ‘we don’t need to be saved’ or ‘I can save myself’—was carried pretty well,” he said. The book shows “plenty of consequence to sin, plenty to build on as you take your kiddo through other resources.” Lloyd-Jones started somewhat reluctantly, prepared to do a good job and then get on to the next thing. Now, I do have some concerns about it. I think that the positives outweigh the concerns, but I think the concerns we still need to keep in our mind, and my main concern with The Jesus Storybook Bible is that it focuses on God's love more than any other attribute. Every story focuses on God's love, which to some degree that's accurate because God is love. So every story throughout scripture is going to be interwoven with God's love. But the problem that I see with that is that God's other attributes, the fact that God is just, the fact that God does have wrath towards sin, the fact that God is omnipotent or omnipresent, those attributes tend to be overshadowed by God's love. And anytime we elevate one of God's attributes above the rest, we're in danger of wandering off into heresy. Children will love the vivid illustrations and animated videos that bring to life Bible stories from both the Old and New Testament. They’ll learn that every story in the Bible points to Jesus — and what that means for them!

The Jesus Storybook Bible, which is often given at baby showers or baptisms, has a fascinating birth story of its own.In Jeremiah 29:11, God reminds us that He has extraordinary plans for each and every one of us. Often, it can be easy to get anxious when we think about the future and the unknown, but it’s important for us to trust God—His timing and plans are greater than we can imagine. Singer and songwriter Melanie Penn opens up about insecurities she has faced throughout her career and how staying rooted in her faith has always gotten her through the unknown. The students say, ‘This is a better way to understand than I’ve ever seen,” he said. “You wouldn’t believe how many master’s students—MDiv students—say, ‘I use this to help me remember the storyline.’ Over the years—countless.” Building the Church All Over the World
