Also, I knew there were characters of color in it, as a Black Woman, that will definitely urge me want to read a story. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Once a Hollow, a dead evil spirit, begins attacking people he steps up to the plate to become a soul reaper after the original one who was sent, Rukia, was injured. I enjoyed the moments of goofy humor and the excitement of the fights, but feel like I'd probably enjoy the anime more--it was hard to keep track of the characters in black and white (when your protagonist's defining physical trait is his orange hair, it's a shame to keep him in monochrome), and it was so action-packed that sometimes I couldn't tell what was happening in the battles.

Putting all that aside, the first few pages did a fairly good job of drawing me in and the full first chapter really got me hooked to it. I realize it's kinda 'typical' as far as Shonen manga goes, but that doesn't stop it from being a worthwhile read. There was also an explanation on why Orihime’s older brother took her from their parents when he turned 18 and in Orihime’s character bio, it mentioned that even though she lives alone, she is supported by her relatives (I was wondering where she was getting money from since she has no job and is a high school student), these things should have been mentioned in the anime, they’re important. It takes you through some dark stories and Ichigo is a likeable hero even though he plays the bad boy. There are so many things that were not in the anime, like Orihime and Tatsuki talking about Orihime’s crush on Ichigo and Tatsuki giving her suggestions on how she could get together with him. Ichigo Kurosaki has always been able to see ghosts, but this ability doesn't change his life nearly as much as his close encounter with Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper and member of the mysterious Soul Society. The beginning of final arch of Bleach, the quinces have come to take their revenge on the Soul Reapers who once hunted them.

Annnnd since this is an ongoing series with 60 issues so far, I will have something to look forward to reading for quite a while. I have no idea what Bleach was all about until I read the first volume and it was kind of interesting. Ichigo lost his Soul Reaper powers in the last battle, and he now must try to live the quiet life of an ordinary mortal. Since I’m so familiar with this series because of how nostalgic and important it is to me, I’m not sure what to say except that I enjoyed this. When a hollow was too strong for Rukia, she lend her powers to Ichigo, little did she know that he has extra-ordinary abilities that questions the mystery of who Ichigo really is.

It's a huge series, so I don't know how long it'll take me to finish, but I definitely enjoyed these first three. Anyways, maybe because i'm older now i liked this first volume, but there is way better manga out there.
