Here the ladies and gentlemen of Mäurer&Wirtz were probably really fascinated when the fragrance artist Geza the Beautiful Prelude offered them. At the same time the pepper is accompanied by a strong citric note, which also brings with it a light herbaceousness and in my opinion ensures that the scent is literally lifted up into the air and comes from the bergamot. Ultimate is a pleasant companion in the spring, autumn and winter months for men over 40 who are looking for an invigorating, spicy, fruity, greenish, floral, flowery, woody, creamy, resinous, leathery and earthy fragrance to give their male aura a cuddly dominance. Ultimate is a patchouli centered scent with a signature Geza Shoen's game on ISO e Super theme. A patchouli arounded by pepper, incense and violets. That way the composition shares the mood of the patchouli fragrances, of peppery fragrances (MJ Bang) and incense fragrances simultaneously. It doesn't smell like LIDH, though those who love the Guerlain fragrance could easily fall in love with the Baldessarini.

Baldessarini is a German fashion brand which was founded in 1993 by Werner Baldessarini, the former chairman of Hugo Boss. Nine years later, Baldessarini introduced the first men’s fragrance bearing its name. It was a huge success, not only among the general public but also in professional circles – among other things, it has won two prestigious FIFI awards. It didn’t take much effort to accomplish that, but finally here’s the first decent offering from Baldessarini since their early Baldessarini Eau de Cologne. Ultimate doesn’t really scream quality, but it’s very (thus, surprisingly) nice, surely more than enough for the brand and the market positioning, no snobbery intended. It’s modern, almost slightly “avantgarde”, and could very easily fit in contemporary fashion lines like Comme des Garçons. Actually it smells like something they could have made, and that would have even been better than some of their offerings.Unfortunately I could not see Labdanum and Amber, but I can imagine very well that these two components were used for unpainting. Súhra vitality anezvyčajnej hrejivosti. A resemblance to Terre d`hermes is however presumptuous, there is perhaps something of Marc Jacobs Bang to be seen because of the pepper.

The pepper is a little dimmed in the heart note, but still very clearly perceptible and combines with a floral, very discreetly lovely note, which appears extremely dominant male on my skin and can be described as quite conspicuous and comes from jasmine. In the base an intense resinous note is to be perceived, which also brings along very fine and discreet citric features and comes from incense.

A fragrance that performs a little better here than the otherwise rather poor Baldessarinis? There you can be curious about the ultimate light shape. The new Ultimate despite the silly name is the best designer fragrance that I tried this year. Moreover, it's the best Baldessarini ever. A big surprise, it seems that Baldessarini did impossible thing for themselves. To my nose, if the Dior Sauvage smelled liked this, it would immediately become the new classic. However, for me not the best fragrance from Baldessarini, there is the cologne which is much more pleasant, with the disadvantage of a cologne which is already gone after an hour.
