The Cornish Cream Tea Holiday: The most uplifting escapist The Cornish Cream Tea Holiday: The most uplifting escapist

When bad weather cuts off Porthgolow, Hannah and Noah are looking at a Cornish Christmas. It gives them plenty of time to work out what is really going on, but will their yuletide escape send shivers up their spines? Or will it be as warm and toasty as a glass of mulled wine? This one follows Thea, who’s on a three week getaway to Cornwall and finds more than she bargains for. With her hopes and dreams set on opening a bookshop in the charming village that captured her heart as a girl, will she get all she’s dreamed of? And there’s Ben of course, the heartthrob from next door.. In addition to her wonderful descriptions of Cornwall, Cressida has created a heart-warming and uplifting story for readers to get swept away with. The main romance was not hugely surprising, but it's the journey to get there that made this one hell of a ride. I especially adored the wonderful cast of characters surrounding our two loved-up leads, from favourites from past books to brand-new ones to fall in love with. A wonderful mixture for both old and new readers of The Cornish Cream Tea series. I’m absolutely loving this series of books situated in Cornwall, so much so that I wish I was staying there.

I'm a total book nerd and my TBR pile is out of control. I would quite like to be a ghost hunter, and I'm a huge fan of a fictional hero. Has Charlie’s Cornish dream developed a soggy bottom? Or can she convince Daniel that her bus could take them somewhere wonderful? We are a small family business, based in the beautiful Cornish Countryside, and we are passionate about the humble Cornish cream tea! So we bake everything ourselves👩‍🍳, by hand✋. Using recipes that have been handed down through generations. They are obviously a closely guarded secret🤫. We may have 'tweaked' a few but our Traditional scone recipe remains untouched. Why mess with perfection! The story is set in Port Karadow, Cornwall. It is wonderfully descriptive allowing the reader to immerse themselves in the narrative.

Don’t get us started on the pronunciation of the word scone! Does it rhyme with ‘gone’ or ‘bone’, is it ‘skon’ or ‘skoan’? There is a lot of summer to come between now and then, however, and how about taking a little vacation to the beautiful, magical county of Cornwall. If that sounds good to you, then my new book, number six in the Cornish Cream Tea series is out today. Thea has a mission whilst she’s here to realise her childhood dream and to complete lots of things on her holiday list that she and Esme had drawn up together!

They are fabulous at being able to distract each other and it soon feels as though Thea is really getting to grips with her holiday, and with Ben helping her, I loved seeing Cornwall through her eyes. Cressida McLaughlin writes the best escapist, entertaining and enjoyable romantic comedies and her latest, The Cornish Cream Tea Holiday, is a warm-hearted, hilarious, emotional and captivating charmer that I couldn’t stop reading. An absolutely terrific tale imbued with so much fun, humour and poignancy, The Cornish Cream Tea Holiday is a feel-good and uplifting read guaranteed to leave every reader with a great big smile on their face. Cornwall’s food scene continues to grow, and something we can’t be rivalled on is our epic views, which can be appreciated from a selection of Falmouth restaurants. Whether you want harbour-side d... Although it's part of the Cornish Cream Tea Series it can easily be read as a standalone...although why you'd want to read just the one is beyond me! 🤷‍♀️ Maisie Winters has everything she could ever want. She lives in the idyllic Cornish town of Port Karadow, has a jammy job in her dad's shop, adores her rescue mutt, and has time to take the landscape photos she loves.

The Cornish Cream Tea Holiday - Waterstones

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to Random Things Tours and I am leaving this review voluntarily I would have loved to have seen more of the renovation process in the book to go on Thea’s journey from start to end but that is just me being greedy and wanting to live a little of my dream through her! I definitely feel like there is still so much to come from both Thea and Ben so I am hoping that they make a strong reappearance in a future novel.

Falmouth Cafés – the best cream tea spots

Whether you’re searching for a Falmouth festival, you want to try some local fare at a food pop-up, or simply fill your time in this harbour towns exploring its rich maritime history, while Cornwall... I loved seeing her explore the village and get to know the community. New characters have been introduced yet there’s still time for some old favourites and I loved seeing Charlie and Daniel again. The story was somewhat predictable as are the majority of this genre but I was not disappointed. I liked the characters and how their lives interacted. Heartwarming and a great holiday read Ben is rather grumpy and is in the process of renovating the property next door to where Thea is staying.

My Books — Cressida McLaughlin My Books — Cressida McLaughlin

I really enjoyed this book because I feel that Thea is one of Cressida’s protagonists that resonates with me the most. I’m introverted and bookish, just like Thea. Also, I loved seeing Thea change the more time she spent in Port Karadow and with Ben. She started off apologising and not having much confidence but by the end, she was a confident, independent woman. If you’re after a gluten-free cream tea in Cornwall then look no further than the cobbled streets of St Ives. Not only does the bright and cheerful Yellow Canary offer gluten-free scones but they also sell gluten-free pasties and a selection of other cakes – oh, and they’re dog-friendly too! Robin Brennan has come home to Campion Bay. Now her parents have retired, she’s set to become the new landlady of The Campion Bay Guesthouse. A garden by the beach sounds good – and here is one that is irresistible. Falmouth’s botanical garden awaits… Trebah Garden, is as good as it sounds, for the bottom of the garden leads y...
