Liu C, et al. (2021). Emerging progress in nausea and vomiting of pregnancy and hyperemesis gravidarum: Challenges and opportunities.

My go-to green juice recipe is simple. It takes 15 minutes, 6 ingredients, and a juicer or blender (whatever you have is fine). I'm excited to share the recipe with you and answer your questions as best as I can. Why I drink green juice? Loose stools are common in babies until they start eating solid food. If the baby shows no other signs of illness, loose stools or green stools are probably not caused by diarrhea. It is difficult to consistently relate a precise color to each condition. However, here are some possible connections between colors and conditions: The benefits of green juice are meany, but I do want to share, from my own experience, why I drink it: Bright red: Bleeding in the lower digestive tract, such as the rectum or anus, may cause bright red stool. Hemorrhoids and anal fissures may also cause bright red stool. Alternatively, red stool may be due to consumption of red food coloring, cranberries, beetroot, tomato-based products, or red gelatin. Our understanding of why dogs eat grass is also somewhat limited. Some believe it is eaten as a means to induce vomiting. However, the journal Recent Advances in Animal Nutrition in Australia suggests this may not necessarily be the case. Their conclusion was that “grass eating is [likely] influenced by satiety and time of day” [2]. This was because dogs would often eat before they ingested food, further suggesting dogs may see grass as a food source. Diseases like gastritis in dogs can occur for many reasons. If the animal has eaten too much rich food, this can lead to inflammation and vomiting. If the dog continues to vomit after they have emptied their stomach, bile will be more likely to enter the stomach. It is also possible to see bile mixed with food. The primary risk from diarrhea is dehydration. Caregivers who notice signs of diarrhea in babies should carefully monitor for signs of dehydration. These include: Damage to your throat, mouth, or gums from coughing or vomiting. Small amounts of blood may not be a reason for alarm. But if you see a significant amount or it looks like coffee grounds, call a doctor to rule out more serious conditions. When a baby develops diarrhea, a person should continue feeding them as usual unless a pediatrician recommends otherwise.

Green juice variations: you can (and should) change up your green juice occasionally. Try replacing kale with spinach or other leafy greens of choice. Add citrus, in the form of peeled orange or tangerine. For herbs, try basil or cilantro. On occasion, I like adding a pinch of organic turmeric powder. Although juice cleanses, detoxes, and fasts are a popular trend, relying on green juice — or any other juice — as a sole source of nutrition is never necessary and may harm your health. JAAPA. 2017;30(12):15-21. doi:10.1097/01.JAA.0000526770.60197.fa Given that green juice doesn’t contain much fiber, it shouldn’t be used to substitute your veggie or fruit intake. Mucosa on the stomach lining cause the actual action of the reflux. When this irritation occurs, the reflux causes the contents of the stomach to be emptied through the mouth. If there is food in the stomach, it will be mixed with the bile. If the reflux occurs on an empty stomach, the vomit is usually a mixture of bile and gastric juices. The colors of the two substances are often similar.

Other possible causes

Pale or clay-colored stool may mean there is a problem with the liver, gallbladder, or pancreas. This is because there is less bile in the stool when it is one of these shades. A person should consult a doctor right away if this happens.

Given that green juice tends to taste bitter, most recipes add small quantities of fruit — which may or may not be green — to sweeten it and improve its overall palatability. Popular fruit options include apples, berries, kiwi, lemons, oranges, and grapefruit.Bile is produced in the liver and its purpose is to help break down molecules from food in the small intestine. The bile produced in the liver is then stored in the gallbladder (bile was sometimes known as ‘gall’). When the food leaves the stomach, it first enters the duodenum which is the beginning of the small intestine. Bile is then sent from the gallbladder into the duodenum to continue with the digestive process. A little bile entering the stomach is relatively normal and often will not provide symptoms. However, if we see our dog vomiting up bile we know that the bile reflux has been engaged. Roth N, et al. (2016). Green juices made only with veggies are lower in carbs and unlikely to negatively affect your blood sugar. However, if you prefer your green juice with fruit, the sugars in the fruit may contribute to unwanted increases in your blood sugar levels. There’s no official recipe, but common ingredients include celery, kale, Swiss chard, spinach, wheatgrass, cucumber, parsley, and mint. Cook's Note: this recipe makes 2 large cups or 3 smaller cups of green juice, about 6 oz or so each. Parsley: parsley is a big part of the Mediterranean pantry, and I use it in many of my recipes and not just to add a nice little garnish. I love the refreshing herby taste it adds here, plus, it's rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and good for your bones! How to Make Green Juice: Food poisoning after eating contaminated foods. Other symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever.

Causes

Doctors can prescribe medical treatments to remedy the underlying causes of diarrhea. For example, doctors will prescribe antibiotics to treat bacterial diarrhea and other relevant medications for IBD cases. Stool is usually brown because of compounds like bile and bilirubin that are present in it. But if you have liquid bowel movements, you may find the liquid is another color entirely.
