February 2022

Most families who are planning to go to Walt Disney World start doing so at least 6 months in advance, if not 1 year. A lot of people who were in a wait-and-see frame of mind over the past couple of years want to book a vacation and Disney travel planners have been swamped with requests. November 13-17, 2023 (moderate crowds, holiday decorations are out, but the Festival of the Holidays will not have begun yet at Epcot)

October 2023 will get busier in Disney World between Columbus Day, EPCOT festivals, and Halloween. The weekends in October should be busier than the weekdays, so plan your days wisely. We’ve broken down the Disney Events for 2023 by month so that you can see which dates and events are happening. Which holidays fall into the mix and special events that may affect your vacation? Getting a handle on what will be happening while you’re on vacation, can help you plan better. Let’s dive in. Note: Events labeled TENTATIVE have not yet been formally announced. Date ranges are based on annual historical data. As soon as Official Dates from Walt Disney World are confirmed this post will be updated. Guests can book their dining reservations up to 60 days in advance (starting at 6 AM on the date indicated in the calendar). The Disney Crowd Calendar lists the specific date you should start booking your Walt Disney World dining reservations.

January 2022

Dec 1-7 – The first week and a half of December crowds drop off and it’s one of the quietest times of the year in Disney World, especially if there aren’t any cheerleading competitions happening. Even though it’s quiet, it’s not as slow as in past years since so many locals also come to the parks and resorts to see the holiday decorations go up.

There was a small drop in August, and a bigger one in September, as there is every year. In fact, in September the avg wait time for attractions in all 4 parks was between 25 and 40 minutes, a big difference from only a few months earlier. Reservations can be made starting at 7 a.m. on the day of your visit to Disney World (or once the park opens at Disneyland).

November 24 – 30 Thanksgiving Holiday week which brings heavy crowds. Generally speaking Saturday-Wednesday are less busy than Thursday-Sunday of this week. In case it matters to you, Christmas decorations at Disney World WILL be up!
