COMPLETE BREW CONTROL - Attach the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap to any AeroPress coffee maker to stop drip through which allows you to extend brew time and use coarser-ground coffee like pre-ground medium.

Controlled Brewing - Simply attach the cap to any Aeropress coffee maker to stop drip through, no need to use the inverted method! Above all, this also allows you use a coarser-ground coffee and longer brew times before pressing If you want a ‘cleaner’ and more transparent cup profile similar to pour over rather than AeroPress, I highly recommend that you try these filters. Fine ground coffee will give you the best results. Try a little more coarse than classic espresso ground. The grounds should be fluffy, but not such a fine powder that you can pinch it and cause a clump. Grounds that are too fine and clump easily can compact too much, creating excessive resistance to pressing. If you find that you aren’t able to press, don’t force it. Pause, give the AeroPress coffee maker a little swirl or a tiny lift of the plunger, then continue. Personally, I favor clarity (so that means paper filtration), but if you like something else, then by all means go ahead. However, the good thing about the Prismo is that it can restrict flow during the steeping phase. Therefore, when using it, you will not have any bypass or premature dripping. The cap promises espresso-like crema if you use finely ground coffee, but you can also experiment with coarser-ground coffee and use long steeping times, similar as to what many coffee geeks do with the Prismo. New to the AeroPress filter scene is the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap made by Aerobie themselves. This is one of the first new products released from Aerobie after the company was acquired by a new owner By the way; the Prismo can be used with or without a paper filter – depending on your preference. AEROPRESS FLOW CONTROL FILTER CAP When it comes to pour over drippers, it’s well-known that the different paper filters significantly impact the final flavor of the brew.

Espresso Style Crema - When used with a paper filter and a darker roast coffee, the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap uses the build-up of pressure to create an espresso-like crema. When used with a paper filter and dark roast coffee, the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap uses a build-up of pressure to create an espresso-like crema. I don’t hold the Prismo in high regard, but some coffee geeks swear by it, so it’s worth figuring out which camp you’re in. Simply attach the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap to any AeroPress coffee makers to stop drip through. For instance, this allows you to have a longer brew time and use coarser-ground coffee like all of our pre-ground medium grind coffee. Another advantage of the Flow Control Filter Cap is that it works with AeroPress's paper and metal filters. This option definitely opens up more brewing options and recipes. The cap is also slightly cheaper than the Fellow Prismo and can be used with paper filters, unlike the Prismo, which can only be used with the metal mesh that's included.

Sidenote: Alan Adler was always very conservative when it came to releasing new products, but the new owners have already announced a range of new gadgets to be released soon AeroPress' patent-pending Flow Control Filter Cap uses a pressure-actuated valve to eliminate drip through and maximize control over the coffee brewing process.Brew Filter Options - The versatile AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap can be used with the AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter or AeroPress Paper Micro-Filters (or even both at once) to create a variety of delicious flavour profiles. (Filters sold separately) Elevate your coffee brewing game with the new Flow Control Filter Cap. This innovative accessory uses a pressure-actuated valve to eliminate drip through and maximize control over the brewing process. Unlike others, this cap fits perfectly on all AeroPress coffee makers, including the new AeroPress Clear , and can be used with metal and paper filters - together or separately. Now you can make espresso-like crema and experiment with coarser-ground coffee! What was really interesting was the difference between the two coffees, both in taste and appearance. The “classic“ filter cap gave its usual slightly oily cup, with more body and more sweetness, but with a lower level of acidity. The Flow Control Filter Cap gave a visibly cleaner cup, with less oily residue and more lively, acidic notes. It was more reminiscent of a percolated extraction than a classic AeroPress cup. According to the company, the Flow Control Filter Cap is designed to elevate your coffee brewing game by using a pressure-actuated valve to eliminate drip-through and maximize control over the brewing process.
