Description

London Postcard was released in most geographies on August 1, but was delayed until January 2023 in North America. This supercool gift features some of the British capital’s most famous sights: Big Ben, Piccadilly Circus, the London Eye and a red double decker bus.

Here again, I can understand why they made the size of The Eye and Big Ben the way they did do to the parts we have available. New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging . Expand your creativity and love for buildings by building your own version of London with this LEGO Creator 40569 Postcard Set.Together, these sets bring some great examples of microscale building, as well as some interesting ideas about geting ‘off the grid’ – particularly in London. This set consists of five iconic elements of the London skyline and cityscape including Big Ben, The Eye, and Piccadilly Square. For reference, a hot air balloon is around 80’ tall, and is built about the same height as the Arc, so there’s a 2x difference there as well.

More postcard needs extra stickers to make Piccadilly pop, and the stickers for The Eye are impossible to align which negatively affects the overall look. With Paris, the extreme differences in height work to create a proper feeling of the city but let’s crunch the numbers on this one. The Eye however, is 443’ tall but come is in only at 22 plates high, meaning a plate there is over 20’ thick! I really like the way that the rest of the detail comes into place on the Eye, with the capsules feeling the part.

LEGO, the LEGO logo, the Minifigure, DUPLO, LEGENDS OF CHIMA, NINJAGO, BIONICLE, MINDSTORMS and MIXELS are trademarks and copyrights of the LEGO Group. It also includes a classic red double decker bus – adding to the family of traditional double decker busses dating back to 1966.

If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. While I am deeply interested in architecture, I don’t purchase many LEGO Architecture sets because they offer limited play value and shelf space is limited (what with giant UCS sets taking up much of my shelving). Otherwise, the build is solid, colorful, and would look good sitting on your desk as you dream about your next European vacation! We build up some wharfs, and then start work on Big Ben (or, the Victoria Tower), using alternating layers of vertical telescopes and wedge plates. For a real taste of home, browse our Puddings and Desserts section and get tempted by all of the delicious food that you could have delivered to your door. Celebrate one of the world’s greatest cities with this fantastic 3D buildable London Postcard (40569). Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). Unfortunately, this iconic vehicle is a little out of scale with the rest of the build, but I don’t this it would be ablw to be completes at a smaller scale. You might notice a single stud to hold the hot air balloon from part 2 of the build, and one of the newish 2×2 bracket plates (part 6250018) that is used to build the top of the Eiffel Tower.

We have been trading online now for over 15 years so you can trust us to provide you with your family favourites wherever you are in the world. The set features a complete collection of LEGO bricks to build famous buildings such as the Big Ben, London Eye, and Tower Bridge. Postcards are frequently photographic composites of major sights in a city, and so I feel it is fine to put the elements together in the way that they have, without needing to be as exacting as with skylines. Also missing is that old Ben is a part of Westminster Hall, which is not even depicted on the 2d backdrop and is a missed opportunity. The Eiffel tower makes great use of the plate with bar element to set up the grille tiles as supporting girders for the tower. Originally created in 2001 with a focus on larger bucket sets, the LEGO Creator theme has expanded outside just bricks to later include minifigures. Sometimes you will feel much more comfortable in sticking with what you know and nowhere is your comfort more important than with sanitary protection.
