Do note that Genshin Impact, Little Mushroom and its characters and plot do not belong to me and all credits go to their owners.

Post apocalyptic story is one of the story that I actually love to read and happy to started this book without knowing anything other than it’s danmei and found this book own that story and A REALLY GOOD ONE *heart eyes* first of all, this is such a wonderful unique premise - a story about a sentient little mushroom who gains human form amidst an ecological apocalypse and has to learn what it means to be human while watching humankind lose their humanity in a bid to save the world. In the year 2020, Earth's magnetic poles disappeared and humankind was nearly wiped out by cosmic radiation. Within the span of a hundred years, living creatures began to mutate and devour each other while the remaining humans, numbering in the tens of thousands, struggled bitterly in their man-made bases. The characters in this book are incredibly well-developed. The author has a talent for making characters feel vivid and real, whether they're a passerby described in one sentence or someone who'll accompany the reader for a few chapters. An Zhe in particular was a delightful protagonist. His perspective on the story events and his exploration of what it means to live as a human is equal parts endearing, funny and bittersweet. As for Lu Feng - I won't say much but as the second most important character, every scene with him in it had me gripped!A dangerously addictive book that I would have read in an entire sitting if I didn't need to do annoying human functions like eat, sleep and go to work. anyway, 3 stars for an zhe and mr. pauli for being the only characters who felt like people and who i could get attached to. and also for the plot concluding in a satisfying way. The world of Little Mushroom is divided based on infection level, with level 6, The Abyss, being the highest. That’s where our main character comes from. I WAS HOPING THERE WOULD BE A SPICY SCENE BUT JUST HAVING LU FENG SAY THINGS LIKE THAT SATISFIED ME BECAUSE WHHHAAAATTTTTT???? Sir said let’s turn this into a kink along with that sexy hyphae 😏😏😏 Lily: “they only know how to sleep, but I know everything”— are they keeping the women in the garden of eden in comas????? Like many other plants and animals in this bleak future version of Earth, he had mutated—no, it’s more accurate to say he has evolved, As An Zhe can think, show empathy and feel like humans do. In fact, in his human form, he is—genetically speaking—exactly like us. It’s just that the gentle little mushroom has more than one form. And he is that— gentle. And obedient. It’s absurdly cute how acquiescent this little fellow is. It’s likely what disarms everyone around him despite his occasionally strange behavior. He just comes across as too naïve and well-meaning to pose any danger.they said that they can’t let the xenogenics get human genes, so humans must be incinerated immediately if they die, but didn’t we see that people who die in the wilderness aren’t incinerated? or are they supposed to incinerate dead bodies and an zhe’s group (and an ze’s group) just ignored the rules? I feel like the whole going out into the wilderness thing seems high-risk, low reward. how are what the mercenaries have found in the wilderness worth this risk? However, let Lu Feng think he was still alive in the wilderness. The Judge had seen too many deaths.” This was a very satisfying second half to this tale that is a blend of gritty sci-fi apocalypse and slow-burn enemies-to-lovers queer romance. There’s heist drama (involving An Zhe’s spore), there’s the confrontation when An Zhe’s xenogenic identity can no longer be hidden, there’s cuddles and betrayal, there’s angst and pining, there’s monster fights, there’s social commentary, there’s love and sacrifice, and a hopeful ending. And then you get a bunch of epilogue short stories that are mostly fluffy and adorable, with just a hint of spice. Which is impressive since, as mentioned for part 1…the setup is NOT promising for a happy ending either for our main pair or the world in general. i love how emotionally deep the relationship between an zhe and lu feng is. to an zhe, he understands lu feng's loneliness because of his position in society. because of that, he desired for lu feng not to experience any more grief than he already had, so he always protected him in his own way. lu feng is also like that. he learned to depend on an zheng, making him the sole "judge" of his life. after being the arbriter, never once did the people he tried to protect reach out to him for help because their initial reaction upon seeing him was fear and avoidance. so when an zhe asked him for help, he was delighted (my baby).
