About this deal

The percentage of the approximate area, taken by the active part of the screen, to the total front area.

The most trustworthy reviewers have not posted anything on those models, though, which is why I am asking you: Is there anyone here with first-hand experience that he or she wants to share? :) Approximate diagonal size of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the diagonal is calculated from the width and height of the screen. Unleash your reflexes by switching to the AOC Low Input Lag mode. Forget graphical frills: this mode rewires the monitor in favour of raw response time, giving the ultimate edge in hair trigger stand offs. The monitor is based on a 49″ 5120×1440 super-ultrawide panel, which is basically equivalent to two 27″ 2560×1440 monitors put side by side, just without the bezels in between them! Colour saturation and coverage aren’t quite at the heady heights of AOC’s AGON PRO range, but just a few years ago these would be premium display levels. You get full sRGB coverage and reasonable DCI-P3 coverage which gives good colour in HDR content. AdobeRGB coverage could be higher, but the AG493UCX2 is primarily a gaming monitor, so this isn’t a concern.Despite its enormous size, the AG493UCX2 is as fast and as responsive as its narrower cousins, thanks to its 165 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms MPRT response time (4 ms GtG), which gets the adrenaline rushing in competition. Content creators or streamers can connect two PCs (a streaming PC/work PC and a gaming PC) and control them with one set of peripherals thanks to the onboard KVM switch, and the USB-C connection can transfer video and power/charge laptops with up to 65 W at the same time. It is as much a productivity beast as it is an immersion machine. The operating temperature shows the safe temperature range (from minimum to maximum), within which the display will function flawlessly. Outside this range it might operate improperly and/or fail entirely. According to the documentation this machine can support One display with 5120-by-2880 resolution at 60Hz at over a billion colors (see here - https://support.apple.com/kb/SP795?locale=en_US)

The operating humidity shows the acceptable level of humidity, in which the display will function flawlessly. It sets a lower and an upper humidity level for safe operation and is measured in percentage.Information about the minimum amount of time, in which the pixels change from one color to another. Very often the manufacturer provides the response time for transition from grey-to-grey (G2G).

Information about whether the stand can be dismounted. Usually, this is required for wall mounting. In sim racing games, large, super-wide displays such as the AG493UCX2 elevate situational awareness by showing a wider picture of the game world, which lets the gamer visualise the scale better in their minds and lets them corner at the perfect time to get ahead. Or, in flight simulation titles, this extra screen real estate makes displaying tons of little dials and indicators, visual references, charts, all that much easier. The AG493UCX2 particularly excels in games played from the first-person perspective, but all games benefit from additional screen space, whether RTS games, where gamers can see their home base and the frontier at once, or MMO games with lots of interactions going on at the same time. The curve is really well done. I also have the AOC CU34G2X 34" and they feel very similar and that is a solid monitor.

Why is AOC AGON AG493UCX2 49" better than AOC AGON AG493UCX 49"?

On a positive note, PBP (picture by picture) mode now lets you adjust brightness and contrast without having to switch to single-source mode to make adjustments. It’s a very welcome and significant improvement. The stand is quite substantial and made entirely of cast aluminum. It offers a 4.3-inch height adjustment with 15 degree tilt and 15 degree swivel to both sides. Movements are smooth and firm, projecting the monitor’s solid build quality. This is a premium display with ergonomics to match. Although the results on paper aren’t as high as other displays we’ve tested, I was still impressed with the vibrancy of colour, especially at lower brightness levels.
