Treble is also a mixed bad with the S12. Whilst extension and resolution are great, the transients are a bit fast up there and occasionally also yield that metallic sheen (“tizziness”) as in the Timeless.

I still suggest getting something to power these and not outright straight from devices like a smartphone. MUSEHIFI POWER is a bit pricey compared to the S12 PRO. Like S12 PRO, it has similar dimensional sizes of their transducers but the shells of POWER are rather chunky and large and it is made of high quality resin materials. Inclusions on MUSEHIFI POWER is somehow decent enough. The S12 is a slightly warm and very enjoyable set of earphones that balances its sound signature between sounding reference and musical while retaining good levels of transparency and technicalities. This swappable concept enables the S12 Pro to be paired with a myriad of balanced and single-ended sources. Also, this theoretically should decrease wear-and-tear for the 2-pin connector on the shells, as one does not need to keep unplugging and plugging the cable. A 2-pin connector is always welcome in my book, as I’ve had bad experiences with failed MMCX connectors in the past, especially with frequent cable changes. The midrange presentation of S12 PRO has some slight recession that I noticed especially on male vocals but it still has enough texture and depth not to sound too hollow. It has a clean, neutral and detail that will give more vividness on female vocals and most instruments especially on strings. KZ PR2: The PR2 features a V-shaped tuning, characterized by an energetic bass and vibrant treble, while the midrange takes a more subdued presence. On the other hand, the LETSHUOER S12 offers a more natural and preferable listening experience. The S12 is more balanced and has better technicalities compared to the PR2. Nevertheless, the other one still has an advantage over the other. Notably, the PR2 being two times cheaper than the S12 Pro is already an advantage. I was under the impression that the S12 Pro will be quite bright and harsh, and was honestly worried about how my ears will interpret its sound seeing as I’m quite sensitive to mid treble, but it never sounded harsh(unless you go ham with the volume) during my experience.

Despite the vents, i solation is actually above average, and these would make for a good commuting pair of IEMs. Comfort The midrange is lush with sublime goodness, but are not forward (which for me makes them relaxing) again that also depends on your pairing. The highs are sparkly with great extension but do not get out of line to my ears, no sibilance. Here there is some consistency across amps and DACs, the highs do not change much with power.

There certainly is an emphasis in this region but that rise doesn’t ever come close to muddy or cross the midrange line adversely. I really enjoy the output here. I grew up on bass and I always need at least a generous portion so long as there is some semblance of control. The S12P is all control, all the time, without being overbearing or exhausting after long stretches of listening. Resolution and clarity are very nice in this region with a tidy and clean response. Well done, Letshuoer! Midrange Low-Mids Living up to their dual namesake of the Cretan guardian machine and sun deity Helios, activating the hybrid switch elevates the Talos head-and-shoulders above the other planars in technicalities (though at the expense of added sibilance and fatigue). The treble on the S12 PRO is well extended and clear with good detail retrieval that doesn't resort into becoming analytical. Mid - that's where most of the issues come from; mids are very much recessed and thin sounding, without a proper body, synthetic. Male vocals are usually too quiet and dark. I also spotted a place in Mozart's Violin Concerto no. 4 where the soloist plays arpeggios from the G string up to the E string - the dynamics in the recording and in the score remain the same throughout the passage, yet S12 makes them variable (G string being the weakest and darkest, E being overly bright and louder). I'm a violinist and believe me, this 'Leduc' Guarneri is PERFECTLY balanced. It's such a shame how much the S12 interferes with the perfomer's intentions. The S12 Pro are a bright pair of IEMs; make no bones about it. They have moderate treble extension, sparkle, and air, but for longer listening sessions, treble-sensitive folk might have an issue.

DUNU has also released some crowd favorites, such as the Titan S, DK-2001, Zen Pro, EST 112, VULKAN, KIMA, and SA6, in addition to having a vast accessory line-up. Technical Specifications DUNU has obtained internationally-recognized acoustic research achievements and patents. DUNU was one of the pioneers in developing a full beryllium dome single DD IEM in the LUNA, which are still regarded as one of the top-of-the-line single DD sets that can match multi-BA/hybrid IEMs in resolution. Most other purported beryllium DD IEMs are plated or coated only. Please note that I have an eclectic taste in music, and in headphones and earphones, as I do not believe in having multiples of the same sound signature. The fact that they are differently tuned is not an issue for me. What I want to hear is good tuning, if it is tuned with emphasis on bass good, midrange good, highs good. Even in the pure planar setting, the Talos showcase excellent imaging, layering, micro-details, transients, and instrument separation. Only the Moondrop Stellaris can better the Talos in these areas, but the Stellaris are quite unlistenable for most consumers, being overly bright, with timbral flaws and fit issues.Their product line-up includes the S12 and Z12 mentioned above and other luminaries such as the D13, EJ07, EJ07M, EJ09, Conductor, Soloist, Tape Pro, and Singer. The lower treble continues on from the slight bump in the upper midrange. In pure planar mode, the treble extension is decent. It could be more airy and sparkly, but it balances a fine line between being forward and getting some micro-details in without fatigue. In the exclusive planar mode, sibilance is mild. Comparisons The S12P are downright striking in appearance. A very simple yet also beautifully designed earphone all the way around. Colored in a matte finish is this navy blue colorway with hints of purple hues which appears bold, distinguished and regal. Accenting the gorgeous paint job is a protruding small rectangle housing where the female 2-pin connector is located with a beveled strip of shiny silver outlining it, which adds such a distinct contrast to the confident looking shells. I have the hardest time deciding if there is bluer than purple, or more purple than blue?
