Comparing to the other two fragrances, Kalemat is less tip-of-the-tongue sweet than 24 Gold (definitely) and even Raghba (slightly), so it's deeper and reveals more in the dry down as far as an amber/wood blend than its two counterparts. Kalemat is like a bewitching fog that we do not get out of. Its heady scents are the fruit of the subtle blend of white leaves of tilapia musk associated with rosemary and amber flower. Its soft, exotic touch comes straight out of mahogany and cashmere woods. The light scent of Kalemat anise gives a sweet sensation. They bind and complete this dream of perfume. After now trying Kalemat (by Arabian Oud) a couple of times, I can confirm, in large part, the consensus that it's very similar to 24 Gold by Scentstory and Raghba by Lattafa Perfumes. Mainly a mix of honey, amber, vanilla, and woods, Kalemat is not quite a gourmand but nonetheless quite sweet and resinous, and only traces of bitterness exist to counteract the creamy blend of most of the other elements. I really don't get the blueberry, anise, or rosemary. So, sooooo very different from Arabian Oud Kalemat. I mentioned earlier that it reminded me of Buddhists’ incense burning and that sweet tobacco feel (more strong of the two). It is comforting, at least on the incense influence because that’s what I grew up with and I like that scent. I didn’t really notice any other scents (no experience so can’t speak for sure) but those two first and foremost. My nose feels oddly cleansed (but slightly clogged up from something else) if that makes sense and as I wrap this up, it is not as strong as first spritz (or, the first official one after making sure it could spray) and the sweet tobacco (hmm…doesn’t make me cringe but I’m undecided) comes out more so now. Probably something else as well but can’t put words to it. I kinda want to spritz some more on…Arabian Oud makes unique perfumes for men, women, and unisex. They also have a kids collection. Oil Perfumes Kalemat is everything I had hoped it would be. I've been searching for an authentic and wearable Arabian scent. It is no easy thing! I've sampled virtually every offering from Amouage, a number of rare attars, low cost oils from al Rehab, and various western "interpretations" of middle eastern fragrances. None has come close to Kalemat. It is a deeply relaxing scent, perfect for stressful days at the office. It speaks something of eternal truths, of timeless values, of the cycle of life-death-rebirth that renders all of our transient worldly concerns puny by comparison. The oud-lover will want to stop here. Rosewood by Arabian Oud is a fragrance that doubles as an adventure for your nose. It’s also a unisex fragrance, so you can confidently douse yourself without fear of offending someone nearby. Kalemat then does a Thierry Mugler Pure Wood impression on my skin for the next 30-minutes. Whatever the cashmere wood is doing, along with the other notes, reminds me a lot (not identical) to that rich/creamy oak note in Pure Wood. I literally did not remove my nose from my skin for those 30-minutes.
