About this deal

NOW Music is proud to present the next instalment of the 'Yearbook' series - and our first to celebrate the '90s, 'NOW - Yearbook 1992'; 43 tracks from a brilliant year in Pop! Prince also had two top 10 UK hits in ’92 (‘Sexy MF and ‘My Name Is Prince’), while Madonna had three (‘This Used To Be My Playground’, ‘Erotica’ and ‘Deeper and Deeper’) but their absence is less surprising. In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases.

s celebratory ‘Megamix’, and the album rounds of with Darlene Love’s ‘All Alone On Christmas’, taken from the Home Alone 2 Soundtrack. opens Side Two, which includes The Cure's 'Friday I'm In Love', Electronic's 'Disappointed', Marc Almond, Boy George - and the beautiful and sophisticated ballad 'The One', from Elton John. saw Bruce Springsteen release two new albums, ‘Human Touch’ and ‘Lucky Town’ on the same day, and the title track from the former kicks off LP2 – followed by playlist classics from Sophie B.and Crowded House follow, together with the Gary Barlow-written ‘A Million Love Songs’ from Take That and Kylie Minogue’s ‘Finer Feelings’ remixed for single release by Brothers In Rhythm. That was one of only 13 chart-toppers in Britain in 1992 and a creditable nine are included in Yearbook ’92. Floor-fillers from CeCe Peniston, Dina Carroll, Shanice and En Vogue follow, before 'My Destiny' from Lionel Richie completes the disc. This is another great compilation from Now Yearbook but all the Special Edition covers seem to be damaged. saw Bruce Springsteen release two new albums, ‘Human Touch’ and ‘Lucky Town’ on the same day, and the title track from the former kicks off Disc 2 – followed by massive Rock hits from Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden and ZZ Top’s cover of ‘Viva Las Vegas’.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.Timeless tracks from Annie Lennox and Richard Marx follow with Bon Jovi’s ‘Keep The Faith’ closing Side One. Crowded House have their second appearance on this album with ‘Four Seasons In One Day’ and the disc comes to a close with two beautiful ballads from Belinda Carlisle and Gloria Estefan. Up next are ballads from Lionel Richie with ‘Do It To Me’ and Tori Amos with her gorgeous track ‘Silent All These Years’. The lead single from The Cure’s ninth album (Wish) ‘High’ is here, together with Suede’s debut single ‘The Drowners’.

s biggest seller in both the UK and the US opens the final disc: ‘I Will Always Love You’ from Whitney Houston, followed by huge hits from Vanessa Williams and Lionel Richie, before second tracks on this collection from Kylie Minogue and Take That – with their first Top 10 single ‘It Only Takes A Minute’. Now’s first yearbook venture into the 1990’s and it’s an interesting if not the most exciting year to launch with. Alternative’ Pop from Manic Street Preachers, Simple Minds, Paul Weller and Tears For Fears complete side one – whilst the flip side salutes the dancefloor: Dance-Pop filled the charts in 1992, and this side explodes into action with worldwide hits ‘Rhythm Is A Dancer’ from SNAP!Brian May’s ‘Too Much Love Will Kill You’ begins disc 2, followed by Mike Oldfield’s ‘Sentinel’, plus fantastic covers from Cher (‘Could've Been You’), KISS (‘God Gave Rock 'N' Roll To You II’), and Manic Street Preachers (‘Theme From M*A*S*H (Suicide Is Painless)’).

Not all of these surprises are pleasant (see Nick Berry’s Heartbeat, Billy Ray Cyrus’ Achy Breaky Heart and Urban Hype’s ‘A Trip To Trumpton’) but hey, these were hits at the time! If the 90’s are your bag and you’re looking for a nostalgic deep dive, this album is worth a listen.Crowded House finally crack the UK top 10 with ‘Weather With You’ and the single remix of Tori Amos’s ‘Crucify’ ( Tears For Fears fans should note that this song is co-produced by Ian Stanley and features Chris Hughes on drums! It’s definitely presented as a transition/turning point of a year in music, plenty of 80s artists still around (Bon Jovi, Simple Minds), the beginnings of Britpop (Suede, The Manics), the rise of boybands (Take That, East 17) and the Eurodance sound that would go on to dominate the next few years (Snap! Loads of classics, forgotten tracks and one hit wonders are scattered amongst the 4 discs on offer here.
