Workplace romance, slowburn, rivarly, ocean conservation, HE FALLS FIRST(and he falls hard, it’s the sweetest thing ever!), spice.. with some added praise😏 & to top it all off, BANTER! Elliott began acting and writing for radio during his teens, and showed signs of a promising career during his twenties before he was called for administrative military service in World War II. In 1948, Elliott relocated to the United States where he became a highly regarded television scriptwriter. As a fiercely intelligent and bold person, he made a name for himself, until the era of live television drama ended in the early 1960s. I was intrigued by the blurb right from the start, because it was really unique. I had no idea what to expect so I went in with an open mind. It was different and the writing style (second person POV/internal monologue) threw me off in the first quarter of the book. It took me some time getting used to it but that didn't take away my interest in the story.

Jake doesn't really want to sell his nanna's house but the situation calls for him to list it. But he didn't expect the new real estate agent to be so determined to sell the house. But when Bob Wall rose, his left hand held something smaller than a body. In his hands, he held only a pair of blue jeans. The jeans were covered in silt as gray as ash. I also think it was a bit cringey at parts and the ending was wayyy too much. Like I get that the dude had money to buy anything but all those gifts? Too over the top. And I would've also loved to see Lily and Nico together but maybe they're in the next book, who knows.she was just your basic tote bag girly who wants to make a change in the world!! she definitely uses a metal straw to save the turtles!!! because she's not like other girls!! sksksksk Sometimes the people who are meant to love you forget how to, and you wander through life alone. That ache of loneliness simply dulls to resemble a fading bruise"

If you have to constantly spell it out for the reader that this is grumpy x sunshine/enemies or rivals-to-lovers, you're doing it wrong. Luca has a soft spot for Avery, but cannot seem to do so without putting other women down and comparing them to her. No thanks. They also "compete" with each other, which often just ended in Avery winning because Luca loses all brain cells when she's around. If there's a rivals-to-lovers story, it should be evenly matched.Ella Davenport hasn’t been in a swimming pool since a bad decision ruined her chance of Olympic gold. So when Ella decides on a new career selling property, she chooses Chalk Hill. The country town is a long way from the water, with no pool in sight. Perfect! Their relationship develops very naturally, they are both very competitive and it's very fun to follow all their bets and their inner battles. But what I loved the most were the mutual respect and the communication between them. That's on a healthy relationship. A local developer is interested in the house, locals work out Ella's past, Jake is distracting to the sale negotiations and the town wants to open the swimming pool again with a splash - can Ella take the chance of a new start in life? This made me so excited for their next book! Avery and Luca are great characters and I can tell they meant a lot to the authors. Congrats Kels and Denise on your first novel - can’t wait to read the next!

I am so hooked, from the very beginning, devouring the words, knowing at 11% that I won’t be able to stop until it’s over. The two main characters Kate and Jude are very different from one another but also share some similarities. First of all they are both killers (I have a strange obsession with them!). While Kate was very impulsive in her behavior, Jude was more calculated and didn't act before thinking things through. However, they both had a very unique upbringing and handled some things the same way. They definitely brought balance and some type of peace to each other. However it didn't all go according plan and there were some major obstacles they had to overcome. When they first met they recognized something in each other, they both felt a connection that they couldn't ignore. Their coming together was inevitable.I've mentioned it before, but I LOVE to read about strong women and that's Avery. She has a passion she truly believes in. Nothing should come between her and her career, before she reaches her goals. I loved that and related to that so much. Reading this book was a little bit therapeutical. It's okay to have both, it's okay to let people in and still reach all the goals you dream of reaching. YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL. I truly believe it. I loved the environmental theme and that they both share their passion. For exclusive bonus content for our books join our Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/authorkelsden... I knew from the first chapter that this book wasn't going to be for me, but because I received the ARC, I wanted to be able to push through for my review. However, it took me much longer than it should have for me to get to the halfway point, mainly because I had to take a break after every chapter. Kels writes impactful love stories with strong heroines and swoon-worthy love interests with her best friend, Denise.
