I’m working with author Serena Patel and the team at Farshore Books to create The Very Merry Murder Club, which will be hitting shelves on the 28th October this year. Summer in London is hot, the hottest on record, and there's been a murder in THE TRI: the high-rise home to resident know-it-alls, Nik and Norva. There’s characters of all races, religions and sexualities, which is refreshing and hugely important in literature for younger readers. This, in addition to Elle's trademark inclusivity in the characters within the story, will go a long way towards this being a hugely popular read .

There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors. A wintery middle grade mystery collection of short stories by thirteen of the most exciting and diverse authors in children's books today!I enjoyed much of this book with my five year old daughter and it really sparked some meaningful conversations about how we can be different and the same. Also, this anthology is a wonderfully diverse one, which authors and characters from all backgrounds. When she was twelve, her father handed her a copy of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd and she realised that she wanted to be either Hercule Poirot or Agatha Christie when she grew up. If anything, this anthology leads with the best story first - Shoe-dunnit by Elle McNicoll and then the ones that follow go on a sort of rollercoaster from awful to good.

I loved the illustrations, there style was just so much fun, though I just wish there were more of them and not just one per story. Aveline is determined to discover the truth behind her uncle's mysterious disappearance when she travels to his home with Mum and Aunt Lilian. I pressed my face against the glass, watching the roaring, wintery waves as they crashed and frothed against the jagged, moon-lit rocks below. There's a scrabble game that precedes the murder, a cold case that no one knows about, and skiing trip gone wrong.

Sleuthing through the snow, on a merry mysterious day, in disguise we go, investigating all the way.
