In Great Britain, the format is different from that in other parts of Europe, with courses being much shorter. Cairncastle is Great Britain's longest hillclimb at 1.65 miles (2904 yards). These short courses are more akin to uphill sprints – and almost always take under one minute for the fastest drivers to complete. For this reason, cars and drivers do not generally cross between the British and continental European championships.

It is a good specification with a larger capacity fuel tank and radiator fitted making it ideal for sprints or hillclimbs. The car has a new E.B.C. heavy duty carbon clutch fitted as well as an uprated E.K. drive chain and Penske dampers all round. Dash2 instrument panel displaying engine revs, change lights, road speed, gears, oil pressure (with low pressure warning light), oil temperature, water temperature, alternator charging. The instrument is programmable (connection cable and manual supplied). This superb Historic F2 has a fully documented history and is in immaculate race ready condition having been professionally prepared and run to numerous class wins in recent years. The temporary course was set on the road to the National Astronomical Observatory situated on the San Pedro Mártir mountain range, on a stretch from km marker 50 to km marker 80. Recognised as one of the most powerful sports racers ever to have competed in speed events, the SPA Judd is a fabulous piece of engineering which started life as a 2.8 litre Hart powered car in the early 90s. Original owner David Render used the car in hills and sprints before selling it on to Ferrari & Lancia enthusiast Christian Mineeff. Christian then had the car completely reworked and converted to F1 power with a 3.5 litre Judd CV power plant. Aero developments by Gould Engineering in the late 1990s made this car the fastest sports racer on the hills bar none. Subsequently owned by Matthew Harrison and Chris Cannell, the car has most recently been campaigned with some success by Tom Brown and Steve Cunningham. Powered by a mighty ex Leyton House Judd CV 3.5 litre F1 engine, which still runs F1 cams and sounds utterly superb!Technical regulations for Sprints & Hill Climbs are found in section S of the Motorsport UK Yearbook. Specific event or Championship regulations are found in Supplementary Regulations (SRs) made available by the organiser Complete with a fascinating history file including SCCA Log Book, period programmes/results, copies of all previous FIA papers, correspondence with Hutchison and most recent programmes/results. It requires tyres, extinguisher and belts and is competitively priced to take account of this. Would make a highly entertaining car for classic speed events. Sister car to the Lola campaigned by Peter Voigt.

Hewland Mk 8 4/5 speed box (rebuilt by JP racing at Silverstone few years ago. LSD (also rebuilt by JP) South Australia features the historic permanent venue Collingrove, [12] as well as annual temporary venues including Mount Alma Mile, Willunga, Legend Of The Lakes and the state's longest course is the Eden Valley Hillclimb at 3.7km (2.3mi).Peter Hubbard's unique Shelsley Special, Maximus, features a Prosport 3000 chassis (number 0001) with a Darrian GTr carbon fibre body moulded on and fitted with a V8 Evinrude two stroke engine (325hp) and 380 lb/ft torque connected to a CVT transmission. Chassis 15 is believed to have been constructed from spares by the factory, around the time when Edenbridge was being closed down. As such it has no period history. It is however currently to F2 specification other than the engine, which is a Jennetts 2.0 litre Ford YB on carburettors. The gearbox is a period correct Hewland FG400 and the car runs on Compomotive and Melmag wheels. The car had a period in storage and by the 1970s it had fallen into a rather tired state, but fortunately it came into the hands of Peter Seabrook-Harris who over time restored it to its current lovely condition. The Dellow starts on the button and on the road it is very lively and handles well. It is very sound with a sweet engine, an easy to use Ford three-speed gearbox, taut suspension, good steering and strong brakes. It is great fun to drive and ready for classic trials. The driver with the greatest number of "Race to the Sky" outright wins (8) is Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima, driving his custom built Suzuki Escudo hillclimb special vehicle. Ground effects came to Formula Two in 1979, and that year's European Championship was won by Marc Surer in the works March 792 BMW. Although not universally successful the 792 was popular with customers and 32 were sold by the factory. Most of these competed with BMW engines, but several were powered by Hart 420R and one ran with a Cosworth BD.
