Very Good+ hardback, edges of text block lightly soiled, FFEP tanning, in a Very Good or Very Good+ clipped jacket, small losses and edgewear to jacket, a few spots of foxing on jacket, now protected in a Brodart. L. Travers started putting a bit more into her story building, making adventures slightly more magical and immersive.

Mary Poppins herself is both more self-centered about her appearance as well as much crabbier to the children. People complained that Mary Poppins is not as magical as the Disney movie makes it seem, to which I remind you all again: DISNEY.No matter what is happening on Cherry Tree Lane, Mary Poppins and her magic can distract and/or make things better. Several losses and tears to jacket, mainly at edges and ends, otherwise a sturdy, attractive copy of this famous classic. If there were just the slightest hint that she actually cared about these children, I might be able to get on board, but she's just so unpleasant. She was made into a suffragette in the film to explain why she sometimes did not have time to look after her children.

Summary: Mary Poppins comes back on the end of a kite string, stays with the Banks family for a while, and then disappears on a merry-go-round horse. There are aspects of the second movie in this book and that was very cool - I am glad they used a lot of this book for that movie [which I also love; almost as much as the first one] as this book was a lot of fun. Just when Jane and Michael Banks thought she was gone forever, Mary Poppins floats back into their lives on the end of a kite string, bringing a whole host of wonderful adventures with her.

Some of the characters from the first novel reappear as well — Admiral Boom, the prissy Miss Lark and her dogs, Mrs. At Books2Door, we believe that reading is a fundamental skill that every child should have to help improve their vocabulary, grammar, and critical thinking skills. I just wish my children were still young enough to have bed time stories, each chapter can be used individually, so you will not feel you are reading forever. She never acknowledges her strange and magical powers, and feigns insult when one of the children refers to her previous adventures.I didn't like the series of adventures in this second book as much as the first, still continuing through the series.
