Rankerand ObdscUrban Legends also offer more theories as to how Doveland, Wisconsin may have completely vanished including; A post from a now-deleted (and, uh… questionable, from what I can tell) Tumblr that’s been preserved thanks to a reblog from a different, still-extant Tumblr contains most of the information available about the Doveland, Wisconsin legend. I’ll quote the post at length, in the event that the Tumblr I found the reblog on eventually gets erased from the internet, too: The American West is full of once-prosperous ghost towns that have dried up and disappeared, leaving behind only empty buildings to mark their former grandeur. While we generally know what happened to most of these, that's not always the case - like, for example, the famous lost colony of Roanoke.

The thing that really keeps the legend of Doveland going is that without fail, you’ll see someone on social media claim to have souvenirs from a town called Doveland – shirts, mugs, etc. That’s more than enough for some conspiracy theorists, but the fact remains there just isn’t any concrete evidence – such as any mention of the town on a map or in an official document of any kind – that proves Doveland’s existence. Bennington Triangle · Blood Bowl · Bremen Troll Bridge · Bridgewater Triangle · Clown Motel · Devil's Gate Reservoir · Devil's Kettle · Devil's Tramping Ground · Disney's River Country · Doveland, Wisconsin · Helltown · House of Blue Lights · Island of the Dolls · Langville, Montana · Shirtwood Forest · Spider Gates · Stairway to Hell · Urkhammer, Iowa · Zone of Silence Firmly nestled in the quiet midwest of America, Wisconsin features plenty of charming small towns with picturesque families living the American dream. These communities are usually tight-knit and perhaps a bit isolated, making them especially vulnerable to even the smallest of changes. With that in mind, it’s not hard to imagine such a small town dying out for any number of reasons. Embark on an extraordinary journey with inhabitants of the small town of Doveland as they traverse across dimensions, gathering like-minded individuals into their Karass, a collective that is as risky as it is empowering. Their journey takes a sudden turn when they are confronted with a death that teaches them about time travel. Every tragic event only strengthens their resolve to stand together, and their collective abilities grow, allowing them to face escalating threats with unyielding courage and resilience.Outside of memories and stories from relatives there are also ephemera such as mugs and shirts bearing Doveland's name. [1] But I can’t prove it. (And yes, it bugs me that I can’t.) Absence Of Evidence Is Not Evidence Of Absence

There was also a digital "ghost trace" of Doveland in the form of Google search autocorrect and recommended search options suggesting the term Doveland, Wisconsin to many users without it bringing up any results. This phenomena is similar to Langville, Montana. Unlike that "vanished town" no ARG or online publicity campaign can be linked to the town, which first started appearing in online mentions in 2015. [2] Theories [ ] We don’t know how many people lived in Doveland, Wisconsin, or if it actually really ever existed at all... Because Doveland, WI is one of Amerieca’s biggest little mysteries. The post then goes on to note that “searching for ‘Doveland, Wisconsin’ on google only yields some old threads on /x/ where they’re just as confused as I am, but more mysteriously, two articles on missing people in Wisconsin.” Those articles are from the Appleton, Wis.-area newspaper the Post Crescent . mystery #truecrimeirl #truecrimesleepstories #truecrime #truecrimecommunity #truecrimepodcast #truecrimeaddict #truecrimejunkie #truecrimeobsessed #truecrimememes #unsolved #truecrimepodcasts #truecrimestories #truecrimeallthetime #truecrimeandchill #buzzfeedunsolved #kellibrink #kelliberensbrink #truecrimegarage #crimejunkie #podcast #morbidThe town of Urkhammer, IA was once a bustling, but strangely silent, little burg. However, it faded away in the early 1930s, and those who tried to visit found themselves passing through buildings “as easily as a potato passes through the smoke of a campfire.” The legend of Urkhammer has taken hold online among afficionados of creepy stories and unexplained events.

An image of a house made uncanny through glitching on Google Earth suggests the liminal-digital status of Langville, Montana. The Tumblr post, you’ll recall, notes that “ searching for ‘Doveland, Wisconsin’ on Google only yields some old threads on /x/ where they’re just as confused as I am, but more mysteriously, two articles on missing people in Wisconsin.” As a reminder, both of those articles are from the Post Crescent; one of them is the 2015 article cited by Obscurban Legend. (For the curious, the other is dated 2017.) The confusion of the Tumblr post implies that the original poster also found there to be no mention of Doveland in those articles — that is, the writer seems unsure why Google included them in the search results, given that one of the key search terms is nowhere within them.A second quote repeats much the same information: “I just learned of all the noise surrounding Doveland, and I think I can add some insight,” the quote says. “Doveland was a small town in Wisconsin that housed a lot of military families. My father lived there for a year or two and spoke of it occasionally. The main thing I remember is that it had to do with ‘Project Sanguine’ in the early 60’s.” However, this quote also goes to note that the reason for the town’s alleged disappearance wasn’t “X-Files type stuff”; rather, it’s thought that Doveland was “destroyed after an incident” of some kind. “I thought they were digging up a ton of land for something and they flooded the town or something, but this is a rehashed secondhand memory from years ago,” the quote reads. There’s a short answer to the whole mystery, of course: Doveland, Wisconsin is almost certainly a myth, like Urkhammer, Iowa and Ashley, Kansas. The real conundrum, though, is about where the myth comes from, and when it originated. And that mystery? Well, that’s one that… may not have an easily distinguishable answer. The story goes on to suggest that the town simply faded away in the early 1930s. Those who tried to visit found themselves passing through buildings “as easily as a potato passes through the smoke of a campfire,” and by 1932, the town was completely gone.

Many theories have been put forward to explain the disappearance of Doveland, but none have been proven. Some say that the town was swallowed up by a sinkhole or was the victim of a massive earthquake. Others believe that the town was cursed by a vengeful spirit, who caused the town and its people to disappear as punishment for some long-forgotten transgression. They went into the post office, a bar in which music was still playing, and various other businesses, looking for someone - anyone - to give them directions. Eventually, an old man “just seemed to appear out of nowhere in the middle of town walking alone.” As they ran up to him and asked where everyone was, he replied, “I guess folks round here don't get up much till round noon.” The] freaky bit is how many people in my familly, from wisconsin, say they remember doveland." [11]It has been urged that T-shirts and mugs associated with Doveland shall be examples of bot-generated adverts in step with users’ contemporary search history. https://latestinbollywood.com/doveland-wisconsin-wiki-what-happened-to-the-doveland-wisconsin-theories/ All in all, Doveland is most likely nothing more than an internet hoax – or “creepypasta” – meant to send shivers down your spine as your read about it. The notion of a town that suddenly vanished into thin air is too enticing to ignore, a seemingly impossible story that starts to get the mind wandering down the path of supernatural anomalies, ghosts, and other creepy stuff that is only enhanced when you start talking about small-town America.
