Description

The Explorer 130 EQ2 scope has a maximum useful magnification or highest practical power of 260X. It simply means there’s no significant optical performance to gain beyond this magnification.

I did did some star gazing with the naked eye a few days ago in the south coast of England, and am now patiently awaiting clear skies do I can go out with the scope! Inspired! So I dusted off the 130M and discovered that it was comparatively easy for me to set it up for viewing objects in the plane of the ecliptic. As the Mars Opposition was close I have been using mine to observe Mars, Saturn, Jupiter and the Moon recently. The mount is very well thought out, light yet sturdy and the complete setup is very appealing. Sky-Watcher Explorer-130PS telescope mount The motorised function, once you get used to it, is a fantastic addition and once which makes the whole journey even more rewardingAt Rother Valley Optics, one thing we pride ourselves on is customer service and quality of our equipment. When we test your telescope, we will ensure that it is of the highest quality otherwise, we will reject the scope under our strict quality control and test another model for your peace of mind. One of the main values to look at when testing a refractor is the Strehl ratio. The higher this number, the higher quality lens you have. At Rother Valley Optics, we will guarantee the highest possible Strehl ratio for your telescope. We will aim to provide 0.95 Strehl or higher on Takahashi, RVO Horizon, William Optics and many more! Generally, the higher the Strehl ratio, the lower the Astigmatism and Coma meaning a better image quality from your instrument. As a reflector telescope, there’s a secondary mirror at the front of the tube to redirect light. This secondary mirror poses an obstruction, potentially reducing the contrast and the amount of light that gets to the primary mirror or aperture. Accessory tray: There’s an accessory tray where you can keep items or accessories you intend to use while stargazing. As we all know, there is a vast amount of information out there about a huge range of different scopes. It can be really hard to whittle this down into “What is the best telescope for me?” Well, now you don’t have to whittle, because I have done it for you! A Galilean telescope is a type of refracting telescope consisting of an objective convex lens and a concave lens that acts as the eyepiece.

The Galilean telescope goes by that name because it is the same design Galileo Galilei used to discover the four big moons of Jupiter and other astronomical objects. 7. How to find Saturn with my telescope? In both the 25mm and 10mm eyepieces the waxing gibbous Moon after Christmas was a wonderful sight through this telescope and would easily produce that wow factor for a beginner.

Astrophotography combines looking at beautiful imagery millions of miles away, with creating lasting records of those striking images. If you are looking into astrophotography, you will be looking into the best piece of kit that you can possibly find – and you have found it! The Explore Scientific Apochromatic Refractor AP 80/480 Ed Aluminium OTA is what you have been searching for. The air spaced, triple optical design and diffraction limited optics gives you the sharpest shots you could wish for, and the high quality images produced reflect the quality of the scope. What I like about it: Happy cutomer 2.Now had this my first scope for 2 weeks and have to say I'm well impressed, the build quality of the tripod/ mount is surprisingly good and it comes with a nice motor drive which would seem to be a sensible essential views of the moon were excellent Venus Jupiter and moons Saturn and Mars all good (15/05/2020) Dave Brown - Norfolk

EQ2 Equatorial Mount:

The manual’s language and descriptions could have been worded better, but it suffices to help you through the setup process. As with every telescope we review, we strongly recommend you read the instruction a few times to familiarize yourself with the telescope. It will pay dividends in the long run. This design requires collimation to align the two mirrors accurately with one another and the eyepiece. But, to make life easier for beginners, a large chunk of this potentially perplexing process has been removed. The main question is: what can you see with it? What can you see in the night sky with the Sky-Watcher Explorer 130m? Great ExperienceFast Delivery, set up was not difficult at all. Was really impressed with the magnification of the moon on the first attempt. (24/03/2021) Max - Cardiff

The 25mm eyepiece is more suitable for viewing deep sky targets, while the 10mm is better for making lunar and planetary observations. With 900mm focal length it is easier to get higher magnifications which are needed to view the planets well, this version is better for lunar and planetary observation than the shorter P model but is physically longer.

The aluminium tripod is lightweight but surprisingly stable and proved to be a good match for the telescope and mount. Great Telescope This is my first scope as an adult, and I must say I am impressed, very easy to put together great viewing of the Moon and Plants, yet to look at any star clusters, Motor Drive works a treat as long as your polar alignment is accurate and correct, would recommend this for anyone. (14/03/2021) Lewis - Hampshire We enjoyed some excellent views of M27, the Dumbbell Nebula, and M15 in Pegasus very early in the evening, then the Pleiades and the Hyades star clusters and M42 later during the night. Silicon dioxide produces a much more durable coat than silicon monoxide but requires specialized equipment to apply it and is therefore more expensive. Protection is needed, because in most reflectors, the mirror is open to the elements and deterioration of the reflective layer reduces the resolution of the telescope. ALL Sky-Watcher reflectors are Multi-Coated with Silicon Dioxide as standard for Optimum Durability and Long Term Performance. The Sky-Watcher EXPLORER range are standard Newtonian reflectors of excellent quality and versatility, ranging in aperture from a respectable 130mm to an incredible light-gulping 300mm aperture, catering for astronomers of all levels. Whether your interest is Deep-Sky, the Moon and Planets, or a combination of both, the EXPLORER range offers excellent all round Diffraction-Limited performance
