Three of those last four songs (excluding "My Lovely Man") mark the band's first consistent embrace of lilting acoustic balladry, and while it's not what Kiedis does best as a vocalist, these are some of the album's finest moments, varying and expanding the group's musical and emotional range. I know One Hot Minute wasn't mentioned but the 320 of that one is one of my very favorite records (but not cheap). In the US, Blood Sugar Sex Magik appeared in 1991 on cassette with the tracklisting printed in white on clear shells. On the downside they have any cuss words removed (like someone turning the station on an AM radio in outer space) and is a bit distracting but not tooooo bad.

This 2012 re-release is a punk, funk, hip-hop classic, overflowing with raunchy guitar and irresistible grooves — 17 cuts and 74 minutes of sonic mayhem over two discs. It has the exact same barcodes as that pressing with no mention of it being made in 2011 anywhere on the cover. Also there is not information if it's the most recent remastered version as the inserts are not included you can't check the credits, etc. Meanwhile, Jimi Hendrix covers, 'Little Miss Lover' and 'Castles Made Of Sand' (which the group often played live), were made available as iTunes bonus tracks in 2006.

A more recent 180g LP set came out in Europe in 2019 [pictured above] with a newly designed Warners label in lilac [09362 4954163]. I've owned the 2012 Bellman for years and love it but genuinely curious if anyone has heard the 2022 BG cut - ideally someone did a shoot out.
