I think it's insane how different the notes are, yet the smell is so close to the two this is compared to. The top notes of the fragrance are Grapefruit, Lemon and Lavender, giving it a fresh citrus burst to open the fragrance.

It is not a dupe for BdC edt but it is in the same ball park - a lovely woodsy incense type fragrance like BdC but lighter. Opens with a nice fresh blast of woody citruses; I immediately pick up grapefruit and tangy lime, complimented by soapy lavender and bright ginger. If anything, it reminds me a bit of John Varvatos vintage, but both share patchouli, jasmine, lavender and aspects of wood and oak. Great scent overall for what it's worth, no complaints besides longevity and slightly harsh opening. Watch out folks, diddleydaddy is on Fragrantica and he will disparage your taste if you do not like what he likes, which is probably questionable because he loves clones.

On me it dies down rather quickly and while doing so the scent is very linear, not much going on here. It's got this sweet-fresh thing going on, with what I'm guessing is a lot of lemon and maybe the grapefruit. I think my nose is broken, but either that, or my bottle is fake or gone bad: I don't understand how a scent that is welcome with almost universal acclaim, comes across as so difficult for me to smell. It was very surprising since at first I was almost put off by the sweetness and thought it could potentially be cloying.
