I liked the structure of the books. I recommend it to anyone who likes to read to their heart's content, from 8 years old and up. TA It wasn’t because mice don’t give each other names. Because they do. Of course they do. It’s just that normally parents give baby mice their names when they are born, and the trouble with Miika’s parents was that they didn’t actually know he existed. Overall this is a lovely book with a great story which I’m sure many children will enjoy. It works well as a standalone story and is a brilliant story with a heart-warming ending about a mouse discovering the truth about himself and friendships. It’s also a funny story too, especially later when the trolls are involved, it just becomes even more funny and silly, but also brilliant too. A great story which is perfect for reading at Christmastime.

There he found comfort and a warm fire. Nikolas became his friend and taught him how to speak human words. And it was Nikolas who gave him his name--Miika. The part with the trolls, OH MY GOSH, I loved it. It brought a sense of danger to the book! An extra spice bit of spice to make the book even better~ I liked the drawings in the book, the houses and the elves. I will read it to my little sisters. AD He meets Bridget the Brave, who lives in another tree where she has piles of mushrooms and elf cheese, and an adventure begins. I liked how the moral was all about fitting in without actually having to fit in. I like the idea that 2 characters of the same species were nothing alike. It would appeal to anyone who likes fantasy stories because it's set in a fantastical world. IWRatatouille meets Roald Dahl in the funny and fantastical story of a determined mouse on a mission to procure the world's tastiest cheese. From the author of A Boy Called Christmas– now a Netflix movie starring Kristen Wiig, Maggie Smith and Henry Lawfull!

A Mouse Called Miika is an epic adventure story on a miniature scale. It's a tale of mice and men (and more mice). It is about one independent mouse who gets fed up with the other mice, and sets out on a quest of his own to prove that cheese exists, and learns to appreciate other creatures. It is also a tale of great love (of cheese) and great danger. And learning the lesson that, with cheese, as with life, what matters most is not how strongly you smell, but how strong you are on the inside. Meet Miika, a small little mouse who used to have no name because of how big his family was but thanks to Nikolas Miika got a name + more! And in this book we follow Miika on his way to find himself. I loved Miika instantly. He was such a fun character and I really loved how brave and sweet he was. And when he became magic… I just had fun seeing him discover his powers. He had a big love for cheese and I loved that he was looking forward to cheeses. I think that is also why he just went for the dangerous plot that Bridget the Brave cooked up. And Miika spent those early days very hungry indeed. He was the weakest, smallest, youngest, most ignored and underfed mouse in the whole crowded, dark, damp tree hole, and probably had the rumbliest tummy in the entire universe. Oh, hi, Miika,” said Nikolas, smiling. He kept on walking. “Sorry. We’re in a bit of a rush. I’d love to stop and chat, but there’s an Elf Council meeting in two minutes. It’s quite urgent. It’s about gingerbread supplies. See you later!” An epic escapade, the story of a mouse named Miika who never knew his dad, and although he knew his mum, Ulla, was ’ very, very very tired’ with thirteen little mice to care for, she fell asleep before she could get around to naming him. He was always hungry, the weakest and the smallest, the last one born, and the one who went largely ignored by his Mum. So one early morning, when the other mice are sleeping, he decides to leave his home in the tree. He pauses before leaving, saying goodbye to everyone, including his Mum, but no one is listening.

They were friends. And they looked quite ordinary. They had ordinary dark eyes, ordinary pink noses, ordinary tails. One mouse was a bit scruffier than the other. Bridget the Brave laughed. She looked past the tall pines, down toward the colorful wooden houses of the elf village that she hated so much. “You’re not like me, Miika.” Miika just wants to belong. Living with elves and trolls and pixies can make a mouse feel like the odd one out.
