At the end of the day, skills are in the hands. So you better focus on learning the art of playing guitar and Ibanez will focus on making you look and sound good with this beautiful thing ;) The GRG’s sound might not be the envy of a veteran session player, but I bet it would go further than you might expect in a studio shootout. Aside from its great sound, the GRG is Like every genre, Heavy Metal music has its traditions. Drop tuned power chords, screaming solos and plenty of distortion. However, since the mahogany is a hardwood and the maple is sturdy, the overall weight of the guitar leans towards the heavier side. Another important thing to analyze is the nut material, as it's one of the most important aspects that can affect the sound and playability of your guitar. A well-cut nut will make sure it stays in tune and will make it more comfortable to play. And, one of the brightest models in that series is the Ibanez GRG121DX. It comes with solidbody coupled with simple but reliable hardware and electronics.incredibly affordable, making it a solid choice for beginner and intermediate players in need of a great guitar that can play, travel, and looks great. Limitations The design and material are considered to offer affordable guitars to real music lovers trying to get their first guitar. Best option in that price category. To be honest, before buying it, i was thinking of having 3-4 guitars. But after I bought it, I do not want another guitars. For me, the design is the best I ever seen. Maybe after 4-5 years I will buy a Ibanez guitar in exchange of this "Ibanez Gio"

The comparatively high cost of this is justified by the brand tag. Ibanez never compromises with its quality and it reflects in this one too. Be it a Gio series or original RG series guitar. Although the guitar is made in china, the build quality didnt disappointed at all to me. Buy this guitar if you think you need this and this is perfect for the music style you’re trying to master.

Oh no! Why did I get blocked?

This is a low-quality nut that you might want to consider upgrading soon. Bone and TUSQ nuts are the best for guitars with a fixed or simple tremolo bridge.

It was ideal for my wallet that all the above features come together in the cheapest guitar in the Ibanez natural wood finish range. I considered the more expensive Ibanez RG421 & S521 too. This is the same scale length used in Stratocaster guitars, and it's one of the main reasons they have such a bright sound. It's considered a long scale when compared to most non-baritone guitars. The GRG121DX is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2012. It is as part of the entry-level GIO line.

More with the same pickups

Scale length is the distance the strings will span between the bridge and the nut. It can tell you a lot about the overall playability and tone of the instrument. A longer scale length means longer distance between frets, brighter tone and more string tension—which means lower action, but more difficult bending of the strings. First of all, it doesn’t have a tremolo bar. This means that the strings are attached directly to the guitar in a fixed hardtail style. Super nice matte finish. I have that guitar for more than one year, and the matte finish is like totally new!! This fretboard radius is really different than Stratocasters, but it's also a lot flatter than Les Paul fingerboards. It'll heavily favor soloing over playing chords. This doesn't mean you can't use it for chords, but it will be more comfortable to play chords without muting strings in a more curved fretboard. Bending and sliding without losing sustain will also be more likely in a flat fretboard like this one. Initial production from 2012 through 2014 was in both China and Indonesia. From 2015 through 2017 it was produced only in Indonesia. From 2018 production was moved to China.

Other than that, the playability feels good on this one. Although I needed to adjust the action as it was a bit high during delivery. The Ibanez GRG 121 DX is an entry level guitar, good for beginners and may please a little to intermediates aswell.

Ibanez JS100 2008

These give you more access to clearer, warmer sounds with great sustain and do distortion and heavy metal tones.
