Read our full review of the T3PA Pro pedals where we compare them to these T3PA pedals, and find out which you should buy.

You can also mount the pedals from above. Effectively, by inverting the pedal mounting, you create a set of pedals which matches a real road car. This gives ultimate immersion when driving these styles of cars, and even better throttle and pedal control in certain situations. As mentioned, the design is almost identical to the T500RS pedals. That isn’t a bad thing. Unlike some cheaper pedals, the T3PA-Pros feature a full metal construction. This really elevates the perceived quality of this pedal set. The T3PA pedals include a factory supplied "conical brake mod" which is intended to feel just like a load cell. Don't be fooled! This device makes the pedal feel increasingly firmer the further it is pressed, making harder to move. However, the pedal is still using a potentiometer and is still reading movement rather than force. So while the game is determining braking by how far the pedal has moved, the "conical brake mod" is preventing the pedal from moving creating a dis-proportioned amount of in-game braking relative to the force being applied to the pedal. A load cell corrects this. The load cell replaces the potentiometer and turns the pedal into a purely force-based reading. Therefore, any additional force on the pedal directly translates into a proportional amount of braking applied in the game. This leads to better control over the brakes for better trail braking resulting in better lap times. The T3PA pedals by Thrustmaster are an add-on pedal set which is compatible with the T300 RS, T500 RS, and TX racing wheels. They include a third pedal to improve gameplay over their two pedal cousin. Drifting around corners feels realistic as I let the wheel slip through my hands when the car regains its grip. The experience is powerful and unbelievably smooth, justifying its asking price and immediately selling me on the belt mechanic. Considering the size of the servo, it sounds relatively quiet during gameplay, except for some built-in cooling fans powering up during intense moments.

In my opinion they certainly are - for a start the whole construction is metal and this somehow gives a more definite "feel" to the sim, whatever flavour you prefer. By being able to adjust each pedal in to three different configurations, you will find it much easier to get a good setup for your preference. Many race cars in real life feature a brake and throttle pedal which are mounted closer together. We tested this in all four configurations, and preferred the longer brake travel, with a medium increase to resistance. For us, this felt the most natural, as the short brake travel just felt too unrealistic. If you are really looking for a way of combining both Fanatec and Thrustmaster products together on a console, you will require some form of adaptor. As we mentioned above, both Xbox and PS5 only support 1 input device, meaning you can’t connect your peripherals seperately like you can on PC.If you were wondering whether all the jargon about the servo means holds any weight, I could tell you that after one race, I was a total convert to the dual-belt system. It's the smoothest racing wheel I've used, with zero notches felt in subtle turns, as with some gear-driven models. It's the most substantial resistance I've felt, too. This pedal set really should be your starting point when buying a Thrustmaster racing wheel. And you should ideally stay away from the standard two pedal set. The T3PA pedals are an improvement in every way. So, i do want to do some inexpensive upgrades to the pedals to make them as good as non-LC pedals could be, and note that i don't want to spend the money to go to an actual Loadcell mod for the T3PAs. If i like sim racing as much as i think, i will be upgrading to the Fanatec V3s, so just want these pedals to be as good as non-LC pedals can be without spending a lot more.
