Royally Not Ready gets 5 stars, 3 peppers, and 1 tissue from me. The happy ending is beautiful and I loved how Meghan tied in previous conversations between our main characters toward the end of the book. The world building was fantastic as well. What really won me over though was the dynamic between the characters that brought laugh out loud moments. Final Thoughts on Royally Not Ready When I tell you I 𝗦𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗗 after seeing this show up in my kindle library - 𝗜𝗠 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗝𝗢𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚! I am a total MQ fan for life! In my opinion she can do no wrong 😅 Samantha Brentmoor and John Hartley narrate this audiobook in duet featuring James Joseph. Samantha is simply stunning in her portrayal of Lilly capturing her spitfire, bubbly, and passionate personality perfectly. Plus, she voices the dialogue of various British female side characters giving them each their own unique tone. (Yes, lady!) John Hartley reprises his role of protective, dominant, and loyal-loving, Keller. John also gives light to Keller’s more vulnerable side in this story, which made my heart squeeze. The sexual tension is everything in this book and both Samantha and John bring the HEAT! James Joseph’s chapters are brief, but his villainous tone out for vengeance will grip your attention. Royally Not Read is a standalone rom-com by Meghan Quinn, told from both points of view with a happy ending.

The setting for this Royally Not Ready was also done well. Meghan Quinn is fantastic at world building taking us from the beaches of Miami to a Nordic island that has beautiful scenery. It was easy to imagine what was happening to the landscape surrounding the characters. Playing the Field” is the second novel in the “Hot-Lanta” series, and was released in the year 2013. The gang has returned and this time there’s a wedding to celebrate, except that is the furthest thing on Molly Meyers’ mind. After losing Luke (her fiance) two years ago, there is nothing she wants to do less than help Jane Bradley (her best friend) plan her wedding and celebrate the obnoxious, annoyingly lovey-dovey relationship that Jane has with Brady Matthews. Lilly is the next and only heir to the throne of Torkesthrope and is to get married and have children. Her and Keller are already engaged and set to get married.Their relationship is being tested with the short time frame of just four weeks until they are to wed, the pre-wedding classes, and having to obstain from sex. Lilly begins to feel that her and Keller are growing apart the closer they get to the wedding and begins to have doubts if he will be at the altar as Keller doesn't believe he is a good fit for the role of being by her side as the future prince. There's not much more they can take and now a threat to her and Keller's safety has arised, making him more stressed to keep her safe and trying to catch whomever has threatened them before the big day. Will they catch them in time, and will there be a royal wedding? Royally Not Ready feels like a mix of The Princess Diaries, My Fair Lady and Meghan Quinn’s signature humor and spice. This enemies to lovers romance was really fun and gratifying. Keller works for the royal family but he's more like family than your average employee. It's his task to take Lilly and train her in all the things she needs to know. This is not an easy feat. Keller is a grumpy guy at first, but Lilly softens him up with time.It wasn't until I got to 15% and Lilly made me LOL with the line, "'Is, uh, your butt butt okay?' 𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙄 𝙨𝙖𝙮 𝙗𝙪𝙩𝙩 𝙩𝙬𝙞𝙘𝙚?'" that I was certain I was going to love this one. At first, I wasn't convinced that this one was for me, and that this might be the first one of Meghan's books that I would rate less than an enthusiastic 5 stars—that might get 4 instead of 5. Wild, I know. I rate my books honestly, no matter who the author is, and hers have always been perfectly on point. Something about this one didn't have me convinced at first. I knew I liked it, but I wasn’t connecting like I usually do. Sure, becoming queen one day is part of those new responsibilities, but as long as King Theo is in charge, I don't have to add a coronation to my list. Meghan Quinn definitely surprised me with this book! It included her usual comedic relief and many hilarious shenanigans that her characters always find themselves in - but Royally In Trouble was also full of mystery, angst, suspense and drama. I don't want to spoil anything, but there are definitely some heavy themes throughout this book. Holy hell, I was not expecting things to get so steamy in this book but Meghan Quinn BROUGHT THE HEAT and honestly, I’m not mad about it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Of course, I didn’t follow him. I might be up for a good time, but I’m also educated enough to know leaving with a stranger isn’t smart. Well, that’s until he mentioned my mom’s name. My mom who passed away several years ago.

You might be a future queen, but when it comes to the bedroom, I’m your goddamn king. Got it?” Meghan Quinn, Royally Not Ready Brady meets Jane, and is instantly attracted to her inner sex kitten and innocence, however the last thing she wants is to get thrown into another relationship with this publicly known man-whore. Especially not after she got her heart broken so horribly. Brady makes it a mission to win Jane over and make her see him like he truly is, not how the media views him. It is not that easy, though. Spring training, ex’s, wedding plans, old friends from college, gossip magazines and the paparazzi appear to keep getting in the way of his goal to earn her heart. You know a book is great when you run out of the “OMG hot” and “that made me laugh” tabs. And this was the first book I officially fully annotated!! I wish y’all could see it!stars equals “Meh.” I will not read this book again, it had a lot of problems and I did not care for it. I wish the ending gave us readers more time with Lilly and Keller, it did feel a bit rushed but over all I finished it with content and appreciated the wild royal ride Meghan took us on throughout this book. In this post I am doing a Royally Not Ready book review. This is the first book I’ve read by Meghan Quinn and after almost a full month of non stop dark romance I figured I needed a light hearted break with a Rom Com. This book was exactly what I needed. As always, Quinn threw in some fun side characters. I loved guards Lara and Brimar. They added some great stuff to training Lilly and the rest of the story. I also enjoyed King Theo. And even though we didn’t get much of Timmy Tuna, I enjoyed him simply because I giggled every time I saw his name.
