Spot Highlight the armor (gold and leadbelcher parts) with Stormhost Silver (try to ‘dot’ the edges of the armor only – less is more)! I airbrush Citadel Mephiston Red as a highlight. You can do this with a brush but this is why you buy an airbrush because it’s so much simpler with one. I start by brushing on Citadel Khorne Red. If there’s any browns left I try to leave these showing in the recesses. The foremost of these is the Path of the Dark Eldar trilogy, written by Andy Chambers and consisting of Renegade, Incubus, and Archon. These books chronicle the exploits of Asdrubael Vect as he consolidates power in Commorragh. The next major project is starting on the base. I started by laying down a bunch of Astrogranite around the modeled parts of the base. The bulk of the mound is painted in Mechanicus Standard Grey and drybrushed with Celestra Grey, though I’ve also drybrushed teh marine and the rest of the stuff on the base with Celestra Grey as well to make it look covered in dust and ash. The gold wing there is also Retributor washed with Agrax.

The next step is the real secret sauce. I created a reasonably dilute wash with a mix of Golden High Flow Acrylics Sepia (pretty much a more concentrated Agrax Earthshade), Golden High Flow Acrylics Dioxazine Purple, and the product formerly known as Future Floor Polish (Now Pledge Floor Care Finish, unless they’ve changed it again.) I wash the entire model in this color, removing excess where it pools too much. If you are working with Games Workshop paints, a mix of Druchii Violet, Agrax Earthshade and water/lahmian medium will work just fine. You will, however, be spending a lot more money to wash an entire army of Custodes using this method. At this point the gold is complete. It’s simple, but has a nice rich depth and purplish warmth to it. The bottom edges of the muscles were thinly lined with Stonewall Grey for a bounce reflection/ environmental light. The model was primed with Corax White from Games Workshop, which is a light grey primer. I recommend applying three or four thin coats for a perfect coverage without smothering any details with paint. yeah, I watched a little of that as well this morning. Skimming through it, and she does achieve a really nice blend. Although it's a bit too advanced for me atm with the mixing of colors. However, I know that you can achieve a similar effect by just using coelia greenshade in the transition between ulthuan and stegadon scale. I sort of assume that the effect of the bones showing through is done with some sort of fenrisian grey or light blue effect with some blending technique, so if you have thoughts on how they achieved that as well it would be much appreciated! Other than greys, and I talk more about this in highlighting, I like to use blue-greys too. A dark slate colored blue is a great option. I have two colors like to use for this: Sombre Grey (Vallejo), and Dark Reaper (Citadel). Wash the gold with Gloss Reikland Fleshshade. Necro Gold is a somewhat greenish gold, and the red tones in the fleshshade warm up the colors while retaining the darker tone.

The gold was done with a base coat of Citadel Retributor Armor, an all over wash of Citadel Druchii Violet, chunky highlight with Citadel Auric Gold, and a final highlight of Vallejo Silver. Nighthaunt tutorial/step by step guide! Keldrek, Knight of Shrouds! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/278268163 Dark Eldar – The Dark Eldar are known for their cruel and sadistic nature, and Incubi Darkness fits perfectly with their dark and twisted aesthetic. It can be used to paint their armor, weapons, and other details to give them a sinister and dangerous look.Necrons – Incubi Darkness is an excellent choice for painting their metallic bodies and details to give them a cold, lifeless appearance. It can also be used to add shading and highlighting to bring out the details of their armor and weapons. Now with my glaze of Pallid Wych Flesh ready, I go over the raised muscle of the skin to make it stand out against the rest of the flesh, but not enough to make it too much of a bright white color to overwhelm the Rakarth Flesh. Next comes finishing off the bottom half of the model. My bone recipe is to paint the skulls/bones with Rakarth Flesh, wash that with Agrax, then highlight with Rakarth Flesh and Reaper Polished Bone, using a mix of Agrax and Polished bone for shading and smoothing.

The only time I feel alive is when I'm painting. Vincent Van Gogh

Wash the reds with Nuln Oil to darken the robes down more than an Agrax or Carroburg Crimson wash would do. We want some deep rich colors to set off the pale white. Pendulin’s Shadowkeepers scheme can be found in a separate article – How to Paint Everything: Adeptus Custodes Shadowkeepers. The Belt is done with Mephiston Red and shaded with Carroburg Crimson and Nuln Oil, and highlighted in spots with Evil Sunz Scarlet.
