I took the dried fur, rolled them to make tubes and hot glued the seam, then attached to the top of the bald cap with liquid latex while wearing it. In 2017, Twisty's murders became so famous that he spawned his own comic book franchise, Twisty: the Clown Chronicles. It is shown that young Oz Mayfair-Richards is a big fan of the series, despite his mother being a coulrophobic. Oz also has an action figure of Twisty.

Vacuuming forming clay provides one shot to get it right. You can't save the clay mold. I have a mini vacuum former I built. I accentuated the details as vacuum forming loses a lot of detail. This pull turned out well, though I did lose some detail as I heated and curved it to my face. The shirt is a little long, with red ribbon at the end of the sleeves. Elastic 4" from bottom of the sleeve. There are three pom-poms on the front. Two red yarn, and a furry yellow one in the middle. Glue a small tuft of batting to the yellow one to simulate the tear.I started with a craft foam base, but cardboard or paper would have worked just as well. I sculpted the mouth out of clay. I sculpted it flat and heat formed the final plastic part. Curving it did lose some detail, so accentuate the details between the teeth. Twisty shares many similarities with Pennywise, the iconic evil clown from the novel It by Stephen King, though unlike Pennywise, he is not truly evil. He also has a psychology very similar to Leatherface from the movie The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The clown was a bloodthirsty kidnapper and serial killer, though he did not know that his actions were wrong. His purported motivation (as he revealed to ghost Edward Mordrake) was to save children from their mean-spirited, chore-giving, candy-denying parents. Though some of his murders, like the toy store owner, were likely more personal and vengeful in nature. In season 5, Hotel, John Wayne Gacy actually debuts on the show as a guest of the Hotel Cortez, portrayed by John Carroll Lynch, who also portrayed Twisty. One scene in particular shows him dressed as a clown, brandishing a knife with which to murder a victim on Devil's Night. Scissors - I did use them for smaller cuts. You can use pinking shears to prevent fraying. I should have done this!

When he returned to Jupiter, he learned his mother had died. To most, that would be a tragedy. But Twisty’s mother suffered from alcoholism, which caused her to drop him as a baby. He tried desperately to sell the toys he made at a local toy store. But the shop owner wasn’t interested. The disinterest caused Twisty to fly into a rage, realizing that the rumors from the carnival had followed him to Jupiter. Defeated, he tried to take his life with a shotgun. His attempt failed, and he ended up mangling his lower jaw. He started to wear a mask to hide the disfigured lower jaw. That was when he decided to keep children “safe” from their parents. His methods were gory and murderous, but he believed he was doing the right thing. Strangely enough, Dandy Mott's mother still assumed he did private children's parties, and hired him to entertain Dandy, despite his grotesque appearance. This may have been done to scare Dandy, as a passive-aggressive act of revenge on her part, yet Dandy was totally unafraid of him due to his own emotional instability. He was so scary that actors had to leave the set after takes and regularly complained of nightmares. On Halloween of 1960, Elsa Mars, performing on live TV, summons Edward Mordrake, who arrives accompanied by Twisty. Elsa asks for them to take her. As Edward is about to stab Elsa, Twisty, with his mouth now restored to normal, tells her that it will only hurt for a moment.

He may be based upon real life serial killer John Wayne Gacy, who regularly dressed as a clown named Pogo for children's birthday parties.

Unbeknownst to Twisty himself, however, he ended up persuading Dandy Mott to become a highly prolific serial killer. In season 7, Cult, it is revealed that a comic book series based on Twisty the Clown has been created, titled " Twisty: The Clown Chronicles". Oz Mayfair-Richards is a fan of the series, much to the horror of his mother, who is coulrophobic. [7] Edward claims that "The Demon" wept for his tale, and that his story was unique. He invites him to join him and the other souls he had collected, Twisty then stands up and is stabbed to death by Edward and his collected souls. Twisty's spirit then gets up, no longer disfigured, and joins Edward's group. Jimmy, having viewed the whole event, was credited for killing Twisty.

To make the hair, I cut three rectangle pieces of fur and dipped each one in watered down acrylic paint matching the colors of the original. The idea of this costume came from the hit show American Horror Story; Freak Show. In this season, there is a new, terrifying character named Twisty the Clown. My boyfriend [Ryan] insisted that he dress up as the clown for Halloween. I thought “Greaaattttttt.” Two problems: the show premiered October 8th so I knew this meant there wouldn’t be a mask or costume to buy and next, I’m absolutely terrified of clowns. This could be the challenge that breaks my fear, plus I love being creative.Next, I put down a couple more layers of only liquid latex on top to keep everything together. All of the materials held up great! After all was dry, I painted the mask with acrylic paint. His attire was found at local thrift stores and the clown accessories were sewn on. This is less involved than previous costumes, but it is sewing intensive. My sewing is brute force at best. I come to sewing by way of wood working, so I'm sure there are better ways to do this. I had to redo many seams. During Halloween, Twisty stalks a young girl and followers her to her home, where he kidnaps her brother. Other ideas for a Murder House group costume are: burned-face Larry Harvey; fabulous Constance Langdon; older Moira with a funky looking eyeball; younger-Moira with that gunshot wound; 1920s-themed Nora Montgomery; the student nurses who were killed in the Murder House in the 1960s.
