The angle of view difference is actually quite noticeable as I will show you in the comparison shot below. At first I thought it was just because of the very narrow DOF that you have to deal with, but my Mitakon is even more narrow, and doesn’t have this trait. With this lens, the rear element was completely covered with some strange speckled oil that took me a while to get off. Bear in mind this is a camera/lens combo I’m mostly likely to use for photography of my kids, perfect sharpness isn’t exactly something I’m going to be too worried about.

When talking about light-gathering it is not enough to discuss aperture value as f-stops, you need to address the T-stop for the lens which is more precise in terms of describing how much light it gathers.

In terms of character, this lens produces some very creamy bokeh and very beautiful rendering all around.

The difference in minimum focus distance is so minute that you will not notice it in day-to-day use. But a lot of the flaws that you usually see in this type of lens is simply not present in the 7artisans 35mm f/0. The manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 11' away, and its rounded 10-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality, an ideal combination for portraiture.
