Cray's death sequence is very similar to those of Gustav Graves and Major Grant, who are antagonists in Die Another Day and Die Hard 2 respectively. His character is also identical to Graves: Alex Rider is the main character of the popular Alex Rider series of novels by British author Anthony Horowitz. He is also the main character of several short stories by Horowitz that are considered canon in the series. Alex is then put forward to play Feathered Serpent, against his will, and comes face to face with Cray. He then discovers the powerful graphics of Gameslayer for himself; his character is himself, digitally rendered into the game.
