Description

Here at Busy Bees, we follow the EYFS framework. But our expertise, experience and skill set allow us to go one step further for your child. For starters, here's how: Collect together some of your child's toys or items of interest, space these out on the floor to create a crawling course for your child. Encourage your child to crawl to the first item, provide them with sufficient time to explore this.

Working alongside a qualified Makaton tutor, our educators and parents are taught Makaton signs to help support your child’s communication development. It is important that children are offered a range of experiences to develop their physical skills which cover all elements of physical development such as gross and fine motor skills, endurance, coordination, flexibility, strength, body management skills such as balancing, locomotor skills such as running or crawling and object control such as using a bat or ball. Exploring this sensory dough helps your child learn through their senses and make connections. Counting out the dough supports their early counting skillsThe Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan invested in Busy Bees in 2013, enabling our international expansion Consider any allergies your child may have before starting this experience. This playdough recipe also works with gluten free flour

Did you know? Children who can walk should be active for at least three hours in the day - and we are huge advocates of this at Busy Bees. Busy Bees Education and Training was launched in 2013, offering apprenticeships and short courses throughout the UK Cooking with Buzz provides you with a variety of different recipes to try with your child. Cooking is a fantastic learning experience, providing so many opportunities for teaching new skills and it's great fun too!

While cooking with your child, you can help them to understand the origin of the food on their plate, for example do they know that carrots grow in the ground or that cheese is made from milk? The recipes that you will find in ‘Cooking with Buzz’ come from all over the world, providing you with the opportunity to find out about different cultures and countries as well! Sharing Best Practice Globally - we spend time immersed in our nursery settings to ensure we can share best practice globally and provide your child with the best start in life.

Whilst you encourage your child to explore, test their boundaries and use their imaginations they are learning about risk and how to implement effective control measures to keep themselves and others around them safe. Safety with Buzz will provide you with guidance, experiences ideas and top tips to help you do this. Delivering Excellence - we ensure all our nurseries provide a high quality of care and excellence to your children through our internal quality assurance programme.Busy Bees Education and Training - enhanced training and development courses for all our nursery staff so that your child gets the very best learning experience. Physical activity should be encouraged from birth; babies should be encouraged to move and be active throughout the day. Non mobile babies can be encouraged to get active through floor based experiences such as spending time on their tummy, reaching and grasping for toys, sitting up and naturally exploring moving their arms, legs and head. For mobile babies, this could include crawling, cruising, walking and reaching and grasping toys. We now work with more than 2,500 learners and deliver over 70 apprenticeships, accredited courses, CPD programmes and First Aid training courses Rough, smooth, rough on one side and smooth on the other, smaller than your thumb, bigger than your nose Supported by Amy Fergus-Fuller, a trained yoga instructor and early years specialist, our bespoke yoga programme combines stories and traditional nursery rhymes to encourage your child to have fun whilst they move. Be Active and Healthy

Mix together 250g plain flour, 50g salt, 140ml warm water and 1-2 tbsp oil in a bowl. Split the mixture in three bowls. To one bowl add green food colouring and peppermint essence, to another add red food colouring and strawberry flavouring and to the last one mix in some cocoa powder. Knead the mixture in each bowl for about 5 minutes until it forms a smooth dough Find out about our UP and Active with Buzz programme; available at your Busy Bees' centre and via our UP app. Invite your child to help you make a start and finish line in your garden; with a couple of pieces of clothing, a tea towel or a piece of garden equipment. Following this, explain that we are going to take part in different races.

UP and Active with Buzz is a physical programme designed specifically for Busy Bees to support children with their physical skills and development. At the centres, educators have access to a range of physical experiences they can carry out with the children, along with professional reading to support their understanding of physical development. At home, parents are able to access UP and Active experiences to further support their children's gross motor development and fitness. Find out more about physical development below. Children who can walk on their own should be physically active for at least 180 minutes (3 hours) throughout the day. This should be both indoors and outdoors, ensuring children receive a balance of light activities as well as energetic activities. Busy Bees has been serving NHS Startwell accredited meals across all UK nurseries for the past five years
