With LL it seems people either love it or rather dislike it, and it has both effects on me on different days, strangely enough. Above review was written shortly after purchasing a small bottle, but I wanted to love it so much, I just carried on using it.

Whenever someone on this forum asks about concoctions fit for nymphs, elves, witches and fairy tales, you rise to the occasion. In particular, I remember wonderful collaborations with artists such as Arman or Hilton McConnico, and the universe has always seduced me. I laugh now looking back, because insult to injury, my boyfriend loved the scent and kept respraying it on me and every corner of the room. But after a couple hours I absolutely love what I'm smelling - a violet powdery-ness with just a touch of licorice that now reminds me of a doll I had as a kid that smelled like this. The iris and other florals creep softly into the drydown, along with soft vanilla and caramel/praline notes.

It does feel like something a fairytale princess would wear, it's youthful, pretty and not something to overwhelm.

There's not much in it, but it is enough to notice a difference, in fact I actually find the Midnight Couture version slightly closer to the original than Le Premier Parfum. These ingredients come together in a liquorice harmony, and then gently merge with the sweet notes of amarena, vanilla and praline. The new one feels a bit too juvenile for me (late 20s), but this one is sweet and fun while feeling less childish.

I like it way better than the new Mon Premier perfume, it's richer and lacks that cheap smelling cherry note that I dislike. Some days it's that beautiful, dark licorice and wood and powdery violet with a hint of sour cherry, and some days it goes super sour and punchy. Honestly, this original version is the only one in which I really do see what could be construed as "cherry". In my opinion you need to love these kind of sweet anise fragrances otherwise it gets cloying, fast due to the strong projection and heaviness.
