Description

By accelerating the air flow in the critical outer regions of the fan blades, suction-side vortex detachments are reduced, resulting in higher efficiency and lower turbulence-induced noise emission. The PWM fans lend themsleves better to being controlled by PWM cycles through your motherboard, rather than decreasing the voltage with, say, a fan controller. The only difference I can think of is that Founders' Edition cards might be higher-binned chips for enthusiasts, but you aren't using an aftermarket waterblock anyway.

The NF-A14 is a premium quality quiet 140mm fan with a square frame that complies with Noctua’s AAO(Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) standard. Like all Noctua fans, the NF-A14 has an MTBF specification of over 150,000 hours and comes with a full 6-year manufacturer's guarantee. Featuring sophisticated aerodynamic design measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels, the NF-A14 further improves the renowned quiet cooling performance of the iconic NF-P14. Both cables are fully sleeved and a 4-pin y-cable allows to connect a second NF-F12 fan to the same PWM fan header for automatic control.Optional coloured anti-vibration mounts - To complement the coloured anti-vibration pads included with the fans, users can purchase chromax line NA-SAV2 anti-vibration mounts that enable the convenient, quick and vibration-free installation of fans in standard mounting holes for case fans. For further customisation, a wide range of accessories such as coloured cables, additional anti-vibration pads and anti-vibration mounts are available separately. For refined colour coordination, white, red, blue, green and yellow 30cm NA-EC1 cables plus corresponding NA-YC1 y-cables are available separately.

Inside the box, there are multiple connections, to reduce fan speed, to extend the cable, or a two way adapter.I recently bought 7 of the a12x25 pwm fans for my case (nzxt switch 810) but am now wondering if it would be better to go with the NF-A14 instead. Stops at 0% PWM - When the fan is set to 0% PWM duty cycle by the motherboard or PWM fan controller, it will stop. Thanks to its thoroughgoing aerodynamic optimisations, the NF-A14 provides higher static pressure and an even better airflow/noise ratio than its much acclaimed predecessor.
