I will always give an unbiased opinion, no matter how I feel personally about a particular fragrance. Maybe surprising or not, I discovered my sister loved it as much as I did, and so that's when I realized how scent is strongly driven by our body chemistry. The oakmoss is quite prominent, although not as strong as Nuit de Noel, and there is a slight sweetness from the amber/sandalwood. Even though Halston is very woody, it is not warm cuddly, by-the-fireplace woods at all, at least not in my memory. I purchased many bottles of this fragrance in the '80s, but I waited to wear it once it was not worn by so many women. The scent itself is described in detail by reviewers who have more of a connection to it, so I only want to add a short impression of it and share a few other thoughts instead of a detailed note breakdown.The ones I tried were too flowery and sweet smelling and after an hour or so made me nauseous, just to much. It is smoky and mossy, but it somehow remains lighter and clearer than other midcentury chypres, which are often dense and dark.
