Description

Ghosted, told from dual POVs in first and second person, is an engaging with butterflies-in-your-belly moments and at times heart-breaking tale about love, loss, sacrifice and the healing power of love and forgiveness. Sure, I kinda wanted to get married, and I definitely wanted to have kids, but wasn’t there just a way to do that without the whole dating part? These two main characters have such an amazing chemistry and you can tell they’re just destined to be with each other.

I also loved the fact that this story was a "slow burn", where the hero wasn't just forgiven without some hardcore groveling. She always put her daughter first, and she wanted to give her daughter the best possible life available.Secondly, and more important to my mind of thinking, is how the past flows alongside the present like no other novel I’ve ever read. She is sleepwalking through her job, drinking heavily at night, binge-watching TV – much the same, it transpires, as when Mark was still there. An emotional love story about loss and second chances, with secrets and plot twists you won't see coming.

Only when she looks back on the ensuing wreckage does she begin to understand, and see how she might repair the damage.

Finally a love story that is not all about unrealistic drama, people not communicating and creating unnecessary misunderstandings. Her husband — like so many husbands before him — has fallen into the arms of another — younger — woman. All the pain and neglect she went through when they were younger and then years later he just waltz back in like nothing happened? He's a man that knows that if she gives him just one more chance, though he doesn't deserve it, he won't squander it, and he'll do anything to convince her that he's worth the risk. Then, as their relationship begins to mend in present-day, it is contrasted with the "past" demise of their relationship that led them to where they were at the very beginning of the book.

He’s about to go on an overseas holiday and she can’t decide whether to tell him about some pivotal moment from her adolescence.M. is obsessed with books, music, Star Wars, and all things Marvel, especially the glorious Sebastian Stan.

Meditating on the coincidence of having met Eddie on the anniversary of Alex’s death near the scene of the accident, she eventually realizes who he is and that he is really in LA. At the point the story picks up, he is clean and sober and making amends, getting a second chance to slowly find his way back home. Interspersed with texts, posts, and personal letters, reading Ghosted gives you the same feeling of sinful gratification as snooping through someone else’s Facebook messages (and, really, who can resist that? Possible Triggers: Yes Drug/alcohol use/abuse/addiction (H on page), domestic violence (H's dad to H - on page), the h was a virgin and unexpected pregnancy (on page). when Jonathan finally reach his stardom, his relationship with Kennedy starts to fall apart and his addiction gets a lot worse. It’s another excellent and consistently interesting success from one of the few still-publishing authors whose books I will always look out for.
