Finish it off with vanilla ice cream scoops and more rose syrup (for we just cannot get enough of it). Today, I want to celebrate the universality of Falooda, the way it effortlessly fits into any occasion, any mood. Be it a scorching summer afternoon, a festive celebration, or a casual get-together with friends, Falooda is the perfect accompaniment. Vegan: Use plant based milk, evaporated milk and ice cream (and egg free). Make jello with agar agar. Use only maple syrup and skip honey.

Berry falooda: Use strawberry syrup, strawberry jello and fresh strawberry slices, crushed or stewed berries. Rose syrup: It is a key ingredient of this falooda recipe. Rose syrup is colorful and fragrant sweet syrup made using rose petals, rose water, sugar, and food coloring. This pink syrup adds a pretty pink color and floral aroma to this dessert. For this faluda recipe, you can use both store-bought and homemade rose syrup. If you want to make it drinkable, use a smoothie straw and make sure that the jelly pieces are really small and nuts are chopped finely. You can adjust the amount of sweet basil seeds and flavored syrup according to your taste preference.

Milk: Ah, the canvas that holds all the other ingredients together! Milk provides a creamy base that allows the flavours of the other ingredients to shine without overshadowing them. Traditionally arrowroot Vermicelli is used for Falooda but for easy availability I used regular wheat Vermicelli. Three or more flavors of Ice Creams are used in making the royal fruit falooda. I chose to use Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocolate Ice Cream and Strawberry Ice Cream to fill up my falooda glass. Other ice cream flavors like Dry Fruit, Pistachio can also be used. It is better to avoid dark chocolate or caramel flavored ice creams. In the realm of desserts, Falooda holds a special place. It’s not just a dish, but an experience, a riot of flavours and textures coming together in a single glass. And the best part? It’s incredibly easy to prepare at home. So, let’s embark on a culinary adventure and master the art of making Falooda. Next add milk, and then pour in the rose syrup. The rose syrup should sink to the bottom, creating a pink ombre look. Finally, top it with ice cream, and a little extra jello. Serve with a spoon and a straw. Remember to stir the milkshake before drinking. Second method (for streaks + ombre look) Plus, it’s a great conversation starter at social gatherings. After all, the joy of cooking is all about exploration and experimentation. What Ingredients to Use & WhyTo master this recipe, you don’t need to be a Michelin-star chef or possess a culinary degree. A few ingredients, a bit of patience, and a lot of love, that’s all it takes. It tastes best when assembled and consumed fresh as soon as possible because the faluda and basil seeds absorb the liquid and become soft after storing. But you can also store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Serving Suggestions Here, it underwent significant transformations, becoming the delightful dessert we know and love today. With the addition of basil seeds, rose syrup, milk, and a scoop of ice cream, the humble faloodeh morphed into the vibrant Falooda. While it’s true that Falooda is often seen as a decadent dessert, it’s equally true that it boasts an array of health benefits, thanks to its ingredient line-up. Finally, pour in the falooda syrup. The syrup will spread in the milk because of the ice cream, creating red/pink streaks with an ombre look! Serve with a spoon and a straw. Remember to stir the milkshake before drinking.

Whisk the milk, ice cream and rose syrup together in a bowl with a whisk, until the ice cream melts, taste and add more rose syrup if required. There are different variations of the Falooda too. Some versions use jelly or fruits, while others use nuts for an added crunch. Different flavours of ice cream can be used to give it a unique twist. Making Falooda at home is a beautiful experience. The entire process, right from soaking the basil seeds to the final flourish of the ice cream scoop, is a delightful dance of flavours and textures. Falooda contains milk, nuts, and basil seeds, which provide essential nutrients and vitamins. But it also uses sweetened milk and sweet syrup, so it is high in calories and sugar. Hence it is suggested to be consumed in moderation as part of a balanced diet. Can I eat faluda during pregnancy? It’s about the satisfaction that comes from creating something beautiful, something delicious. And that, my dear readers, is the true art of Falooda. Falooda: The Nostalgic Journey Down Memory Lane The beauty of Falooda lies in its versatility.
