Each and every Member must be of legal drinking age in its country of residence to be allowed to use the Service. If no such law exists in a Member’s country of residence, the Member has to be over 21 years old to use the Service. We have the right to ask you to provide proof of your age and/or to provide further identification to prevent underage usage and/or for any other legal or legitimate purpose. By using the Service, and by creating an account you represent, warrant and confirm that you are of legal age. Traditional Heaven Hill notes like Peanut Brittle are found on the tongue as well as some corn/cornbread notes, vanilla and more baking spices. The proof punch lets your tongue know this isn’t some wimpy 80 proof or even the standard 90 proof bottle. It’s much more bold without being too aggressive. The one thing it’s missing is fruit flavors. I can’t find any. It has a juicy sweet apple taste with hints of light spice and caramel. The bourbon finish is on point. FAQs Single Barrel: A bourbon made using single barrels, providing a higher range of variation in flavor and the chance at specific, unique characteristics.

Bourbon, the Great American Spirit, is not as simple as one might think. Despite the increasing demand (and price) for much-hyped bottles, bourbon is an every-person drink. At the end of the day, it's a blue-collar spirit, made by thirsty farmers, for thirsty farmers. But underneath its fundamentals swims a deep sea of factors — additional rules and regulations, hype machines and deceptive marketing, false myths and a boom that began in 2008 and is still going strong today — that make bourbon more complex than it seems.A full-bodied, flavourful and sublimely smooth this is a favourite of bourbon connoisseurs. Elijah Craig has been credited by many for popularising the practice of aging spirit in charred oak barrels. Rs8,950 for 700ml in Mumbai Evan Williams Finish: Some of the graininess subside on the finish leaving behind more Payday candy bar notes. I can even taste some chocolate after a brief pause. The chocolate helps highlight some oak on the finish too. The finish is uncomplicated and just sweet enough to remember the last sip as an enjoyable affair. Score: 5.5/10 Scotch is often synonymous with higher prices, and in the premium range that is largely true. However, down on the mass market end there are some interesting possibilities to be had for dirt cheap prices. Our Service is an online platform which provides Members with information (e.g. bottle facts, market-indices, market values and prices) on (mostly) whisky and allows Members to add information to the platform. We do not sell, nor does the Service provide any option to buy, any alcoholic products. In 1795 he founded Jim Beam and used his excess grain to distil whiskey. He began selling it under the name of Old Jake Beam, and in 1820 his son David began managing the distillery. The distillery and brand grew from strength to strength. In 2014, Suntory Holdings acquired Jim Beam to create Beam Suntory.

Each year, Evan Williams honors U.S. military veterans through its American-Made Heroes program by sharing individual inspiring stories and producing limited-edition bottles. In 2020, it expanded the program with the American-Made Heroes Foundation Fund. The mission of the foundation is to raise public awareness for causes impacting the veteran community, and to support nonprofit organizations that provide aid to veterans and their families in the wake of Covid-19. Here’s another representative of Heaven Hill’s. The bottle design is great, and the branding of the whiskey is definitely on point with a very zen-like aesthetic. The bottle alone is a fantastic conversation piece, especially when guests come over and notice your collection. While bottled in lower proof than other Evan Williams core expressions, it delivers a rich and smooth taste and aroma. At 86.6 proof, the single barrel bourbon boasts its balanced flavor profile. It has amazing notes of orange, apple, honey, and oak with a long graceful finish. Bartenders tend to love this bottle. It’s cheap, meaning profit margins really pop when you keep this one on the rail. And it’s fine. I’ve called it out a lot in the past as a great cheap bourbon. But we all need to stop pretending this is something more than it is. It’s a workhorse bourbon that you take shots of and chase with a beer. And this expression is exactly what I’m talking about. This dram is a really lovely sip. The use of Plantation XO rum casks that previously held Cognac makes for a wholly unique experience in bourbon that’s worth every cent. Blanton’s Buffalo Trace We may sell, license, transfer, assign or in any other way dispose of the Service (including Members) to any third party without any notification to you, e.g. (but without limitation) in connection with any reorganization, restructuring, merger or sale, or other transfer of assets.

It was almost impossible to get away from this whiskey at one point. That’s not some grave injustice — this is a perfectly fine bourbon, for what it is. The whiskey is sourced from the Four Roses Distillery (for now) and then aged at Bulleit’s facilities, adding their own mark on the juice. That being said, recent controversies and that over-saturation have taken some of the sparkle off of this expression.

Today, the stills of the Heaven Hill distillery stand proud in downtown Louisville, producing a modest one barrel a day. Why only one barrel? Because Heaven Hill demands a certain level of quality control and care, so only one barrel can be made at a time. Yup. Just. One. At. A. Time. Take a close look at the Bourbon in your Glass and you’ll notice “distinctive flavor notes” like caramel, cold brew coffee, dark chocolate, and citrus. I think the nose is a lot more inviting in comparison to their Single Barrel counterpart which can be a bit sharp from the rye.

Palate: My initial impression is that this doesn’t taste a day over 5 years old. The graininess I find is pretty apparent. There is enough sweetness to make me not mind, but this isn’t going to blow away your expectations. Heaven Hill’s Evan Williams brand has been budget-priced and widely distributed for several years, but that hasn’t undercut the substantial quality of what the distillery is crafting out of their Louisville campus. Their standard Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon is a textbook example of an excellent single barrel bourbon at a great price. The initial flavor of Evan Williams bourbon is actually not that compelling, but there are some interesting things to be experienced later on. It’s sort of like meeting someone you don’t think is fascinating at first, but later you decide he could be quite charming. As I take more sips, I continue to taste the initial flavors with the addition of caramel, honey, vanilla, apple butter, allspice, jalapeno pepper, wintergreen mints, leather, herbal tea with chamomile notes, and cinnamon. B and B-: Good and above average. The best of the mass market whiskeys fit in this category, as do the bulk of the premium brands. A B- is three stars. Those nutty caramel scents are the stars of the show. There’s also a nice bit of vanilla and baking spices (with cinnamon being the standout) for depth. Oak isn’t strong enough to have an impact on the other scents but instead just kind of lurks behind them.
