There was a lot of interesting information in the GH5s manual. It does appear that ISO 160 and ISO 800 are the "Base" ISO values for the GH5s. Using any other value besides those will limit dynamic range. Surprisingly, the 20.3MP GH5 II is able to match the full-frame Lumix S5 for capturing fine detail at lower sensitivities. It goes to show that even with a slightly lower megapixel count and a significantly smaller physical sensor area, the four-thirds sensor design is still able to produce extremely sharp images straight out of the camera. Another major addition in this camera is support for wireless streaming via Panasonic’s LUMIX Sync mobile app, where the previous GH5 only supported USB streaming via a PC and Panasonic’s own streaming software. As well as using the maximum amount of pixels and silicon for each aspect ratio (with consequent image quality benefits), this also means that the diagonal angle of view is preserved, whether you shoot 4:3, 3:2, 16:9 or in DCI 4K's roughly 17:9 aspect ratio. When the K (Kelvin) value was changed after adjusting the color temperature with 2-axis white balance compensation, the setting was reset. This bug has been fixed.

According to the specs, what the GH5 II does is unremarkable, save for some more advanced video modes. In practice, its combination of still image quality, video quality, stabilization, burst mode, wireless streaming capability and all-round handling mark it out as a camera that is so much more than just the sum of its parts. Still image: Bulb (Max. 30 minutes), 1/8,000 - 60/Electronic first curtain shutter: Bulb (Max. 30 minutes), 1/2,000 - 60/Electronic shutter: 1/16,000 - 1/Motion picture: 59.94Hz: 1/16,000 - 1/30, 50.00Hz: 1/16,000 - 1/25, 23.98Hz: 1/16,000 - 1/24 (When using Synchro Scan) Having a lower pixel count also means the GH5S is also able to include an anti-aliasing filter that reduces the risk of video moiré, without having to worry about limiting the stills resolution.Auto*, Auto/Red-eye Reduction*, Forced On, Forced On/Red-eye Reduction, Slow Sync., Slow Sync./Red-eye Reduction, Forced Off * For iA, iA+ only.

Richard, for not being familiar with Resolve you did an unbelievable job with this review. You taught me several things I didn't know about Resolve and also tested a few things in ways I hadn't thought of. Excellent job with this review. Keep up the great work. Beyond these changes, the GH5S keeps the rest of the GH5's capabilities, with matching codec options and the same support tools, such as vectorscopes, wave forms and preview modes for anamorphic, Log and Hybrid Log Gamma shooting, for instance. The Bluetooth Remote Control function can be used with Image App, which will also be updated at the same timing with the GH5 firmware release. There's a wide range of lenses for the Micro Four Thirds format, one option being the Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f/2.8-4 (24-120mm equivalent). Its sensor and lens mount are Micro Four Thirds. The camera works with autofocus lenses fromOlympus, Panasonic, Sigma, and a few others, and has broad compatibility with manual focus lenses. It's not compatible with Panasonic's full-frame L-mount system, though, so you'll need to take a little care when shopping for glass.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that ISOs 400 and 2500 will give you the best results for stills shooting: they won't. From a stills perspective, the base ISOs are 160 and 800. Lower pixel count HoustonTexan75: the a7S II was pitched as the video-focused member of the a7 series and its pixel count was clearly chosen to offer native 4K shooting, so it'c conceptually very similar to the GH5S in that respect.

Night Mode] has been added, which reduces glaring on the screens when recording in low-light environment. So is this gold award a measure against all video camera or still+hybrid video? don't think this would match the current still+hybrid which includes GH5 and G9... axis Dual I.S. 2 works when attaching the lens that are compatible with it. Firmware update of the lens is also required. However, most still believe GH5 does exceptionally well in this area. There are also very few competitors that offer 4k at 60fps, especially at the price of the GH5. Even with the new updates, the GH5S still cannot provide this. Aperture Ring Increment] has been added with which users can choose the control method of the aperture ring from [SMOOTH] or [1/3EV] in photo shooting.

The original GH5 was a pretty pricey camera when it first came out as a premium hybrid camera right at the top of the Lumix range. Prices have come down since then, partly because the camera has been out for a while now and partly – we assume – to make room for the GH5 II. The price for the new model does look very competitive, even against the original price for the GH5. Which one you choose will depend on how much extra you want t to pay for the GH5 II’s worthwhile but very specific video enhancements and its wireless streaming potential. Improved compatibility with the Panasonic LEICA DG VARIO-SUMMILUX 10-25mm / F1.7 ASPH. (H-X1025) digital interchangeable lens.In fact, what Panasonic has produced is a camera that keeps the GH5 concept fresh and current. There’s probably not enough here to tempt a GH5 owner into upgrading, but any new buyers looking for a powerful 4K hybrid camera without the cost and weight of a full frame system may just have found the ideal candidate. In Relay Rec, there were cases where the video file number was reset after formatting the SD Memory Card. This bug has been fixed. It is possible to set continuous AF on the live view screen in Creative Video mode or in other video recording mode when the video recording area is displayed.
