They’ve put us under so much pressure. I’ve got an excellent driving record—I haven’t had any incidents in over ten years. I have to work seven days a week just to try to make ends meet. Two of those days are overtime, but after tax, it’s pointless doing overtime. Our new online dictionaries for schools provide a safe and appropriate environment for children. And best of all it's ad free, so sign up now and start using at home or in the classroom. Dates for the industrial action are yet to be announced. The bus depots which will be affected by any action are: Consett, Gateshead, Hexham, Percy Main ( North Shields), Sunderland and Washington.

going north - English definition, grammar, pronunciation

Unite said Go North East drivers and engineers have been offered a "derisory, below-inflation, pay offer" that includes cuts to terms and conditions. They said administrative and clerical staff have not had any pay offer at all. I think this book is great! It shows a different time and place than where we live today. It shows how we have grown as a nation. The best part of this book is that it is a true story, which I feel makes the reader connect more emotionally to what is being said. The text is in a simple font and goes in a rhythm similar to what you would hear driving on the road. This makes sense because of how the entire book they are traveling in a yellow car. Sometimes the text is in a white section next to the pictures and sometimes it is on top of the pictures. When the text is laying over the illustrations it is harder to read.

Workers in Newcastle and Sunderland need a pay rise of 20 percent to get the same as those in Manchester. Over 1,000 First Glasgow drivers are voting to strike over pay. The Unite members previously rejected a pay offer by 99 percent. Existing strike action which is scheduled to begin on Saturday for seven days will go ahead as planned on the following days: But more and more now, I feel like I’m forced to take risks that make me uncomfortable because of the time pressures we’re under.Strike action has been voted for by members of Britain's largest trade union Unite. The ballot was 98 per cent in favour of industrial action with nearly an 85 per cent turn out. The problem we have got is the offer is just totally derogatory. It wasn't acceptable. They wanted to be able to basically turn all of the depots against each other and start going to each individual depot going forward to change the terms and conditions of employment. We can't accept that, members can't accept that, we need a decent and fair pay rise with no strings attached." I don’t think they are a million miles away from each other. I think a 12-week strike would be devastating for the bus sector and would do long-term damage, I don’t want to see that. Unite union members working for Go North East buses, which run across Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham and surrounding areas, have today (Friday 13 October) announced that they will be stepping up strike action with an all-out strike.

The latest round of industrial action follows two week-long strikes earlier this month and has resulted in all Go North East services, aside from contracted school routes, being cancelled for an indefinite period. Under the law, workers taking industrial action have legal protection for 12 weeks – after which they can be dismissed. As Unite members at Go North East began their first strike week on September 30, that 12-week period would end on December 22. Unite general secretary Sharon Graham last week accused Go North East of “betraying” its staff due to “stubbornness, refusing to pay a decent wage to their workers”. Go North East business director Ben Maxfield said the operator was “baffled” by the overwhelming ‘no’ vote and that the company had met “each and every one” of the union’s demands.

A beautiful memoir set in a lyrical picture book format about the journey north from Alabama to Nebraska for a family to find a better life. It is the early 1960s and the trip north is not easy for this family as all gas stations and restaurants do not serve Negroes and yes that is the term used in the text. Having a picnic in the car solves the food problem, but the gas station is a little more difficult. The lyrical text is told through the daughter's observations and what makes this book so authentic is that this was the author's experience. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the ChronicleLive team. More than 1,300 workers from Go North East have voted for industrial action following "below-inflation offers". The mass walk out is expected to bring bus services in the region to a standstill. There is mounting anger within the workforce over Unite’s handling of negotiations and their call for a continuous strike. Unite are literally rejecting a deal they themselves proposed. Wild and unfounded claims by the union of ‘paltry pay offers’, and false claims that the company are ‘not coming to the table’ don’t help”.
