Later in the year I will be subscribing to try some more things about, but I’m keen to clean down a few part used items first. I have been on the site about five times to start up a membership and my inner rebel has cringed aghast in the corner. Inside is a tri-peptide complex which aims to improve firmness and suppleness, a conditioning kombucha essence, a blend of supergreens to hydrate, plump and lessen the appearance of fine lines, a 'mineral boost' to help support antioxidant protection (supercharging the work of the aforementioned elixir) and, finally, a deep sea mineral infusion which floods the skin with intense moisture in a way that feels just right.

The cleanser comes with a muslin cloth however I found it to be a little scratchy feeling alongside this cleanser so I preferred using a microfibre cloth or just my hands. Caroline suggested that you can splash this off, but honestly, my aim isn’t that good and I prefer using a warm microfibre cloth to rinse it all away. While there's no question that this face mist is full of great, skin-loving ingredients (including antioxidants) to moisturise, brighten and soften, it is also just really enjoyable to use—meaning you'll find yourself actually looking forward to your skincare routine. I purchased the Hydra Prep after my Beauty Pie Consultation, as it was recommended in part of my cleansing regime. All of the Japanfusion products contain antioxidants and ingredients to help repair and protect the skin’s barrier, but it’s the cream that provides that final layer and locks in moisture. If you have spotted ethylhexylglycerin on the ingredient list, most probably you will see there also the current IT-preservative, phenoxyethanol. Beauty Pie’s Supreme Cream is part of the Japanfusion range*, which is their potent line-up of intensely moisturising skincare products. It almost glazes the skin so that – even without the other layers beneath – it’s almost absurdly plump and dewy.

Beauty Pie Japanfusion™ Pure Transforming Cleanser is superlight, perfectly effective, delicately technical and really cool to use. Vitamin E offers extra protection for your skin’s lipid barrier, keeping your skin healthy and nourished. Another added ingredient of the Japanfusion Cleanser is Jabara Extract which is rich in Vitamin C, helping to prevent the appearance of blemishes and prevent early signs of aging. Layered together they are almost too much for my face to handle, turning it into a kind of turgid, heaving waterbed.

I’ll admit that the first 5-10 uses I tried it I thought it was okay, but I didn’t get the hype – until I read the packaging and read that I was using it entirely wrong. Tocopherol (also known as Vitamin E) is a common antioxidant used to help protect the skin from free-radicals and strengthen the skin barrier. I would be more likely to pay for the subscription now compared to how I was a few years ago – the variety is certainly more interesting for a long term range. Boots do a squalane one which I feel it's a bit less moisturising than the Ordinary one, it is pretty similar though. The key ingredients from this cleanser are that it’s made from 95% naturally derived ingredients, including baobab, aloe vera and meadowfoam sea oils (an ingredient rich in fatty acids).

Because I’ve been using this mostly in the shower I’ve been careful to follow it’s instructions of applying onto dry skin and massaging in which is key because with any damp or wetness it turns milky very quickly.I’ve just cancelled as my teetering stash is threatening to crush the poodle if she ventures into the spare room, but I will definitely rejoin.

A great element of this cleanser is that a little goes a long way and still manages to do the job effectively whether using for a first or second cleanse, inspired by K Beauty it effectively balances skin leaving the face soft and smooth. I started out with the Japanfusion Pure Transforming Cleanser which is a pleasure to use, but it didn’t last me that long. I’m a member too and have loved most products up to now, though the retinoid hand cream did nothing for me.Personally that’s all good by me as I’m not an apricot fan when it comes to scent or flavour, but I didn’t let that put me off trying to put this to the test. A serum I had been meaning to try was the Japanfusion Genius Lift Elixir that was hyped when it was released a few months ago.
