Description

Hand-held remote control, which can operate in 4 separate channels and allows you to work up to 100 ft, even through walls. You can press to release one treat or press and hold to release treats at set intervals. Do you always have to use the machine? Chapter 14 of the training manual "Fading Out the Treat & Train" covers how to train dogs to "place" and stay without a Treat & Train present in front of the rug or mat. Can more than one system be used in the same home? Yes. Each system will operate on any one (1) of four (4) channels. That means as many as four (4) separate systems can be used in close proximity to one another.

Once your dog is consistently choosing to stay in the crate and wait for her treats, close the crate door. Walk out of her sight. Wait about 3 seconds. If your dog stays calm, press "dispense" and then return to the room. Do not dispense treats while you are within sight of her. If she starts to fuss, wait until she calms herself until you return. Repeat this until your dog stays completely calm while you practice this step. Open the crate door and take a break.Leave the house as you normally would by getting your keys, bag, etc and go out of the house door. Then press "dispense" and then "down stay". If you hear her start to fuss, turn off the treats by pressing "down stay". Once she has calmed, press "dispense" and then "down stay" to get the treats flowing. Repeat this until your dog stays completely calm while you are outside for at least 15 minutes. Always retrieve your yummy chew toy when you return.

Avoid forcing your dog into her crate as this can make her more upset about being in there and less likely to relax. How can the system be used to train a dog? By rewarding your dog for behaviors you desire. Dogs repeat behaviors that are rewarded or reinforced. To change or eliminate unwanted behavior, first determine what is reinforcing it, and change your behavior to stop unintentionally rewarding your dog for things you don't like. The system can then be used to reward the good manners and behavior you prefer. Whether you're a dog owner or a professional trainer, the Treat & Train Remote Dog Trainer (formerly called the MannersMinder) can dramatically increase the speed, precision, and effectiveness of your positive-reinforcement training. Veterinarian and animal behavior expert Dr. Sophia Yin invented the Treat & Train based on behavioral science and how animals really learn. She developed and thoroughly tested it in lab and clinical trials. The result is a remote-controlled reward dispenser and training system that allow you to efficiently teach dogs at a distance (or nearby) to perform almost any behavior, from everyday skills (such as potty training) to specialized skills (such as those used in agility, obedience, service, and military work). Treat & Train is a remote-controlled reward system for training dogs to behave appropriately. By targeting and rewarding desired behavior, you redirect your dog’s focus away from undesired behavior. Just imagine – no more barking at the door, jumping on guests, begging at the dinner table, or hyper-active attention seeking. Instead, you’ll enjoy a more rewarding relationship with a calm, well-mannered companion. Still, we knew we had to get serious about training, so our new dog Dolly could be calm and happy when her little sister arrived.

What is the PetSafe Treat and Train?

The HSM was fully approved and introduced on the German rail network by Deutsche Bahn in 2016, where it proved its capabilities in terms of output, quality and safety.

The HSM is fitted with four high-output 1440mm milling wheels, fitted with up to 720 cutters each, rotating around horizontal shafts perpendicular to the rails. This so-called ‘climb’ milling process, where the milling wheels turn in the same direction as the machine’s working direction, combined with the large diameter milling wheels (and number of cutters), allows for faster machining speeds with higher metal removal capabilities when compared to previous milling trains which were fitted with 600mm diameter milling wheels. The Treat and Train box comes with the actual Treat and Train itself (basically a treat dispenser), a remote control, a target for touch training, an instruction manual, and a DVD. Annoyingly, the treat dispenser takes four D batteries. I wished I could plug it in, although the batteries likely make it more portable. While it's not a necessary tool in dog training, it does a remarkably good job of teaching down, stay, and place amid distractions with clear instructions for owners, and positive, treat-based reinforcement for dogs. I could see this being useful with agility training, for example. You could also use it with crate training since it'd allow you to dispense treats when a dog is calm and well-behaved in their crate without opening the crate door. Avoid leaving your dog in the crate for longer than she is comfortable with. While you are working on teaching her to be comfortable in her crate, you may want to take her with you, leave her in a gated area, pen, or with a pet sitter. Use positive reinforcement to transform your dog from a jumping, barking, begging nuisance to a calm, polite pooch in just a few short weeks. Reward your dog™s good behavior instantly by remote control even while you are out of sight (up to 100 ft away, even through walls!).
