That's what the Gray Man is for—he's what you'd get if Jack Reacher worked for or was being hunted by the CIA. The resulting carnage and revelations make for some exceedingly gripping content and sets the final third of the book up extremely well. In Mark Greaney’s 12th Gray Man series novel, “Burner,” main character Court Gentry is caught between the Russian mafia and the CIA who are both chasing a banker who stole records from his Swiss bank employer, hoping to expose a load of incredible corruption. However, Court is unaware of the full significance of the data he is reclaiming, and that he will have to compete against the love of his life, Zoya. But if either of them is to survive, they’ll need to figure out how to kick any issues from being on opposite ends of the same mission down the road and do what they do best .

Not only does the action sequences really pop as you have them read out to you, by the format also works well to enhance the tension of some of the extended sequences involving multiple characters. Greaney provides some absolutely iconic action sequences, fight scenes, and vehicular pursuits in this one. In the past, he and Zoya have always worked together, but even two people who have spent their lives in the shadows can lose themselves in the dark.Just days after its premiere on the streaming platform, the Russo brothers-directed spy thriller has already locked in both a sequel and a spin-off. And she was the central character in If It Bleeds, a novella in the 2020 collection of the same name. His performances always capture the intensity, chaos, and destruction of any scene he narrates, while at the same time he manages to move the book along at a quick pace that really keeps the audience drawn in. The amount of emotional depth that was shown in his character was phenomenal and thoroughly thought out. This means that when they finally do meet, the emotional pay-off is even more rewarding, and there are some great sequences with them as the story continues.

The other major new character was Angela Lacey, a rookie CIA operative who is sent to work with Court. Alex Veleskey has stolen records from his employer, a notorious Swiss bank, hoping to expose a massive corruption.Krupkin has two phones loaded with state secrets regarding money that Russia has used to finance secret illegal operations in the West. The newest entry reads more as a Matthew Reilly chase book and far, far away from the initial Gray Man novel. The hero is Court Gentry, aka Six, aka Violator, aka the Gray Man, CIA trained “professional saboteur, private assassin and (currently) international fugitive.

His travel and attention to detail clearly have provided him the ability to create true environments in his stories.Aside from Court and Zoya, most of the other major characters are new additions to the Gray Man series, and Greaney does an outstanding job of building these characters up quickly during their initial appearances in Burner. What she doesn’t know is that there is one particularly dangerous force standing in her path—Court Gentry. Court Gentry and his erstwhile lover, Zoya Zakharova, find themselves on opposites poles when it comes to Velesky.

He's stolen records from the Swiss bank that employs him, thinking that he'll uncover a criminal conspiracy. After Clancy's death, with the backing of his family and estate, Greaney continued the Jack Ryan and The Campus Universe left behind by Clancy, and has written four more novels as of 2016: Tom Clancy: Support and Defend (2014), [10] Tom Clancy: Full Force and Effect (2014), [3] Tom Clancy: Commander in Chief (2015) and Tom Clancy: True Faith and Allegiance (2016). The storyline is current, and for the most part, it's plausible, which is kind of scary when you think about it. If anyone is looking to get lost in a truly gripping, action-packed spy thriller, then I would recommend reading Burner by Mark Greaney!
