Lexar 633X Class10 64GB MicroSDXC UHS-3 SD card (This is used guaranteed to be compatible with the Phantom 4. We will continue to add it to other products’ compatibility list once it passes compatibility test.) The DJI Smart Battery is a lithium-polymer battery designed for the Phantom 3 series. It features four LEDs that display remaining battery capacity. Power management is handled internally meaning the battery doesn’t require a separate balance lead to control charging. But how do you know which one of those two issues is your connection problem? And once you find out, how do you fix it?

When charging your drone you should always keep an eye on the status bar that shows you how much the drone has charged. This is important because you should not overcharge your drone battery because this could damage it.Connect the battery to the charger and the Battery Level LEDs in an array blink successively. The charging time for one battery is approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes. After fully charged, the four Battery Level LEDs are off. Detach the charger after charging is complete. Charge and discharge the battery completely once every 20 charge/discharge cycles. Discharge the battery until there is less than 8% power or until it can no longer be turned on, then recharge it to the maximum capacity. This power cycling procedure will optimize the battery life. Drone batteries, like many other accessories in the drone industry, have received a lot of advancements in the past couple of years. Nowadays drone batteries can give you live updates. A software problem that can be fixed with a firmware refresh, which is not easy to do because you can’t turn the drone on in the first place

Once the voltmeter reaches above 20.00V, you can reconnect the balancing plug and recharges the battery as per normal. The battery capacity is significantly reduced when flying in cold environments (i.e. air temperatures below 0 degree Celsius). End the flight as soon as possible if the Low Battery Level Warning appears when you are flying in low temperature environments. Android: Samsung tabs 705c, Samsung S6, Samsung S5, Samsung NOTE4, Samsung NOTE3, Google Nexus 9, Google Nexus 7 II, Ascend Mate7, Huawei Mate 8, Nubia Z7 mini, SONY Xperia Z3, MI 3, MI PAD When using the DJI 30W USB-C charger, it takes about 1 hour and 4 minutes to charge the battery (1 hour and 41 minutes for Intelligent Flight Battery Plus). After fully charged, the four Battery Level LEDs emit a solid light. Remove the charger after charging is complete.Do not charge battery immediately after flight, because the battery temperature may be too high. Do not charge the battery until it cools down to near room temperature. Charging battery outside of the temperature range of 0℃-40℃ may lead to leakage, overheating, or battery damage. The P3 batteries are protected by a smart charge and discharge function built into the battery itself. The Intelligent Flight Battery with the highest power level will be charged first, and then the rest will be charged in sequence according to their power levels. Most drones these days, except for the DJI drones, use Lithium Polymer(LiPo) batteries which are great because of their light weight and ability to store huge amounts of power, but even with this amazing upside, there are some downsides that people are starting to find out about. The charging hub can use the power accumulation function to transfer the remaining power of multiple low-power batteries into the battery with the highest remaining power.

The charger will pause the charging process if the battery core temperature is out of operating range (0 to 40 degrees Celsius). People are seeming to have this problem where their phantom 3 doesn’t charge or doesn’t seem to charge, nonetheless DJI has not come up with any clear answer why that is happening. Turn the battery on and plug it in, The flat turned on the battery should be flashing red before connection. If the battery keeps flashing red after red, that means the charger is not working and there you have it

How to Prevent Battery Damage

After the batteries are installed, the charging hub can supply power to external devices via the USB-C port, such as remote controllers or mobile phones. The DJI Phantom 3 intelligent flight battery supports input of 12V 1.5 A / 9V 2A / 5V 3A. 6. Overheating When the voltage of the battery is equal to about 3.3 volts per cell then you can move it over to the Lithium Polymer balance charger and balance the charge at a 0.5C rating. This will take longer than charging it at 1C but it will be safer. Only use official DJI chargers to charge the battery. You'll at best void the warranty on the battery, at worst cause serious harm to yourself or your property.

If your Phantom 3 batteries are not charging it means the batteries are in hibernation mode, so it is recommended you give it at least 3-4 hours before going further. You can use a more powerful charger to get it out of hibernation mode faster, the battery supports 12V-1.5A, 9V-2A, and 5V-3A. Also, it’s important to never let your battery get or stay wet. If it accidentally gets soaked in water, make sure to dispose of it right away. Do not attempt to charge a swollen battery because it can explode and cause an accident.

DJI Intelligent Flight Battery Fix:

After a nice long flight, I plugged my drone battery into the charger to recharge, aaand nothing. For some reason, it wouldn’t charge. So I did some research online and here are some fixes that worked for me. Connect the battery to the charger, and the Battery Level LEDs in an array blink successively. The charging time for one battery is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. After fully charged, the four Battery Level LEDs are off. Detach the charger after charging is complete.
